Great flop by Omer Asik
Deserves recognition.

if they are going to fine defensive players for flopping, they should fine players for verbal flops on the offensive end. Pau screams every time he drives to the bucket

Yep, that's got to be a fine.

We have our first

Dunno, looks like a slip or bad footing.

Asik slipped.

The hands flailing helicopter thing he did was just a natural reaction to being spun during the trip.

It's not like we should stick our hands out to brace our fall or anything.

on the right, you see hands bracing for a fall
on the left, an early audition for dancing with the stars (after a 180 spin)

Neither looks that bad to me.
JJ's was more stupidity followed by surprise of getting hit in the face by himself and Sloan's looked like a real trip. The thing that made it look like a flop were his arm theatrics.
Seen worse.

I don't think this was posted......but its a video from the NBA stating what is and isn't a flop that will be fined this year
might help you guys understand why Asik wasn't fined, but JJ and Sloan were

Those are some pretty good guidelines as far as punishing players after the act. However, now that they've set those guidelines, I'd like to see the referees making calls (or non-calls, as the case may be) that are consistent with them.

1:11 Wade shouldn't have been included. EOD

That's the classic Reggie Miller play. It's not like he's the only player to do it but that's as good an example as any.

that kind of flail and spin is the definition of a flop.....there is no reason to call a foul in those situations
Thu Nov 08, 2012 1:20 am
Agree with NovU about Wade. He's spinning one way, and the defender takes his leg out in the opposite direction, how else is he going to fall? The Gallinari one looks like he ran chin-first into Gasol's shoulder, which would justify going down like that too.

there was no need for the twist, you can see it in the slow-mo, that was all him to make the impact seem like there was more than there was.
Thu Nov 08, 2012 4:36 am
I was only joking coz it's Wade. I agree it's a good decision to penalize those flops but otherwise for the excessive twist, kicking leg I thought was within his rights of shooting motion.

I should put this in my signature, more people should know you are actually human and not a robot from the future ensuring Wade's presidency in 24 years.
