Deng played great D on Kobe and of course D-Rose hitting the game winning basket :bowdown2: :bowdown2:

Not to mention, Chicago played about as badly as a team can play in that second half. Lakers aren't going to do anything this season unless they make some sort of roster move.

0/3 to start the season. Good fun.

Surely Dwight should've been T'd for hanging on the rim?

Great games from Melo, LeBron, Rondo, Wade, Ryan Anderson, Durant, Kobe, and D-Rose. Pretty exciting opening night imo. Kind of wish I could finish watching the Clips and Warriors, but I'm just too tired.

Pau Gasol looks pudgy. For a moment while watching highlights I thought he was Marc.

All preseason the guy has been tripping over his own feet. What the hell is he doing shooting 3pters now?

Anyone see Caron Butler's one hand floater over the back of the backboard? That was sick.

DeAndre Jordan shoots his free-throws on the way down. No idea how that's considered good form.

Interesting that Chris Mullin came in, managed to outcrazy JVG (claiming no charges should be called, ever), and was promptly re-outcrazied by Van Gundy (claiming the no-charge arc needs to move out further from the basket). The no-charge arc should be moved in, not out.

what are they doing that's more likable?

not bad as the home team who can't hit free throws or take care of the ball in the 4th qtr ;)

Murphy, McRoberts, Gouldelock, Ebanks, less Fisher, no Phil Jackson, they aren't as good

Was about to mention Rubio, looking really good so far. It's nice to finally see him in the NBA, already thrown some fantastic passes. I was expecting the Thunder to be dominating by now in all honesty, but the T-Wolves are putting up a pretty decent effort. Also does Beasley ever not looked stoned out of his tree?

Exciting Bobcats-Bucks game. Really happy to see the Bobcats go on a third quarter tear. Byron Mullens has a really good jump shot! :o

Mavs, what happened? The loss to the Heat was a little understandable, but down 29 to the China losing Denver Nuggets! Why!!!?

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 1:24 pm

Wow, Vince Carter's already been relegated to a bench role. Seems they're really out of sync to start the season.

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 2:11 pm

Yeah, they look slower. Carter started last night, and him or Terry should start for the season. Get West out of there.

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 3:15 pm

What about Beaubois? He can start at the two. I've got to say I'm not very surprised about the Mavs' performances to start the season. I'm disappointed, but not surprised. There were a lot of changes (too many) over the offseason. There are also going to be issues trying to get Beaubois, Terry, VC, West, DoJo, and Rautins minutes at the 2. And this AFTER getting rid of Brewer, Fernandez, Barea, Stevenson, and Butler. The 2 spot is wayyyyyyy too crowded. Trade like three of them for a big already.

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 3:46 pm

I'ld be down to trading Dojo,West, Rautins, an Wright for a big man (or big men).

so the Lakers lost to the Bulls and imo it is the fault of Kobe Bryant. with the shot clock dead, he didn't really have to do much but get fouled and shoot FTs right? but there was also:

2 missed FTs by McRoberts
2 missed FTs by Gasol
the terrible inbounds play that Mike Brown drew up that led to Kobe getting trapped by the halfcourt line

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 7:34 pm

I'm guessing that Mike Brown didn't draw up that inbounds play, Kuester did like always. Which still makes both of them idiots.

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 7:46 pm

Mavs still looking kinda out of it, and the Bulls must of been hung over for the Warriors game...

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 8:54 pm

I'm not surprised with the fact that the Nuggets won, but definitely surprised about how much they won by. I think their depth will hold them in good stead over the course of the season. Some interesting results all round today (particularly the Kings  )

Who cares if he got trapped? There's no five-second violation, so he can just hold onto the ball until he gets fouled.

Or, alternatively, and I completely fail to see why nobody in the NBA ever does this instead of calling timeout, throw the ball off the leg of a defender.

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 11:56 pm

AFAIK, there's a 5 second ball-hogging violation. Was it already removed?

Re: And the NBA is officially back.

Wed Dec 28, 2011 12:23 am

Not in the NBA. There's the Five-Second Back-to-the-Basket Violation and of course the five second inbounding rule, but those are the only five second violations in the league.

Well, on a happier note Inside The NBA (the post game... the good stuff) is back tonight.

Nash? Nash? Nash???? How many assists did he get last night? 12? Who is scoring for the suns? With almost no one around him except for Lopez, how is Steve Nash getting all of these assists? Good job Nash! Great job in scoring by Robin Lopez, even Gortat chipped in 13 points last night.
