Re: '11-'12 NBA Offseason Player Movement Thread

Caron Butler met with the Bulls yesterday, I'm guessing if anything works out there he would be taking the SG position. Although I'd rather see Dallas keep all of it's championship pieces together. The only thing I'm worried about if Butler actually signs with Chicago, he'll be another Boozer, as he would be coming off of a injury riddled season...

Dwight Howard and CP3 trade could win championship with Lakers this year :)!

How exactly do you expect them to do that?

T-Mac heading to Atlanta

I guess this pretty much signals that it's "Goodbye Jamal Crawford."

Re: '11-'12 NBA Offseason Player Movement Thread

Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:59 am

If they wanted to actually try and improve their team, they'd amnesty Joe Johnson. There's no guarantee he'll be much better than T-Mac from here on out, and I'm sure some team will sign him to a near-max so ATL wouldn't need to pay too much.

I think they'll continue to take a chance on Johnson but if they wanted to go full blast into rebuilding mode with Josh Smith and Al Horford, it would be a great opportunity to get out of that contract.

Holy shit, the Warriors offering 60M over 4 years to Chandler. They amnesty Biedrins's bad contract to sign another one, they sure want that Paul-Chandler combo re-united.

Chris Paul, the All-Star point guard has indicated the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors could significantly raise their chances of keeping him beyond this season if they also sign center Tyson Chandler

Paul hasn’t promised he would re-sign with one of those teams following the 2011-12 season if they acquired Chandler, but league sources said Chandler could make a significant difference in ultimately swaying Paul to commit to a long-term deal.

It would be hilarious if Paul pulled off an 'Elton Brand'.

Damn, the Warriors would be pretty awesome if they can get pull off that Curry + trash for Paul deal. Paul, Ellis, Wright, Lee and Chandler is a very solid line-up, though their bench needs improvement.

You guys are outdated:
The New York Knicks are nearing a four-year, $58 million contract with Tyson Chandler(notes) after the Golden State Warriors conceded they’re no longer in the running to sign the free-agent center, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

More:
Caron Butler agrees to terms with Clippers. Three years, 24M.

Eddy Curry will arrive in Miami today. He's expected to sign with the Heat tomorrow, sources close to the situation confirm.

WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Just spoke to Andy Miller, agent for Chauncey Billups, who describes his client as "irate" over possibility of Knicks using amnesty on him.

WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Agent Miller on Billups: "He has no intention of being open-minded about any possible situation where a team would claim him off waivers.."

More agent Andy Miller on Knicks exposing Billups to amnesty waiver wire: "....unless it's a team he chooses himself. Buyer beware."

I am guessing it'll take some time for the teams to realize they don't have to overpay the players too much under new CBA.

Re: '11-'12 NBA Offseason Player Movement Thread

Fri Dec 09, 2011 9:47 am

It'll probably still happen, when it's all said and done the new CBA didn't go as far as owners wanted.

Can I just wake up tomorrow and have it all go away? I feel like, just for comedic purposes, Joe D should place a bid on Chauncey Billups if he's amnestied. Just get the whole band back together!
