go timmy go!
wtf are you thinking about?
Tim Duncan has had one of the 50 greastest players on his side
Tim Duncan has had one of the 50 greastest players on his side yeah, he is one of the 50 greatest players, but he earned his name over there because years ago he was a NBA Superstar. These last 2 years Duncan is in his prime, while Robinson became a avarage center. So there is no need to say that he had a NBA superstar on his side in the last 2 years. My vote goes to TD

this thread needs a poll!

I agree, these two last years Robinson hasnt been much of a factor, before they were a 1-2 punch, but the last two years its been Duncan, and sumtimes Robinson would help out a little like a role player. Robinson isnt a factor anymore, that's it. He's just a role player like Bruce Bowen. Ofcourse you feel alot more cuz he's THE "Admiral"...but in this discussion I dont think he's much of a factor.

actually when they signed that contract if they would have been told that he would average those numbers in the playoffs i mentioned previously, and the numbers he averaged during the season, i think the coach/gm would be very happy

Because to players are great, they cannot be compared? Every player in the league has been compared...

tim duncan is almost the best ever in the league,'
first is mj,but second is duncan,he is so dominating player!
timmy d blocks shaq"fat"o neal so called #unstopable! heh, shaq is loser!

Would Duncan still have won the title with Nesterovic (who had a decent year), rather than The Admiral (who was declining, but was still capable and had plenty of experience)?
I would say Duncan would have won the tittle but not cause Nesterovic but cause others (Jackson, Ginobili, Parker, etc). Let's also remember KG passes more the ball than Duncan ever would, so you wouldn't obviously see those Nesterovic points in the same way, they will drop just like David's did and that will have nothing to do with being old.

Shaq is undoubtedly unstoppable...no one can guard him, one or two blocks means squat...Duncan's been blocked before..grow up kid(d)...
Back to topic:
So most of you guys think that Duncan is the better of the two but KG is more versatile right?

there u go again Jason Kidd...if Duncan was so dominating how come they got killed by the Lakers three straight years before winning another champion...besides..in 2001 Lakers swept the Spurs in 4 games....

Kid(d), I wont say anything, just quoting the rules:

...Duncan is more dominate at his position while KG can play multi poitiions..

Duncan shot 100 less shots than KG did playing the same amount of minutes a game. KG seems to pass more cause he has more assists because he is the point on tat team becasue the point gaurd shoots the ball more than he psses. Dunan assists were only 2 behind KG's while he had a point to run the offense, and KG passes more while he shoots more? Ya! cause KG always has the ball in his hands.
And KG's team is just as bad as Duncan's team, both teams would suck w/o their superstar. Duncan ddn't have a single all star on his team. And he won the finals. How many people have done that? not MJ, not Magic, not Shaq, I presume Bird didn't either. The reason TD's support looks stronger is becasue he makes them look good. KG can make the assists, but he just doesn' know how to make everyone better like TD can.
So maybe KG can do it all, but TD is just a better player to have on yur team.
there u go again Jason Kidd...if Duncan was so dominating how come they got killed by the Lakers three straight years before winning another champion...besides..in 2001 Lakers swept the Spurs in 4 games....
because Shaq had Kobe next to him.
yeap ...Duncan is more dominate at his position while KG can play multi poitiions..
why have all the positions and more needlessly. when ucan have all the positions and one of them is just plain spectacular

i agree with all the above in poollit's post as well

Duncan has to be more dominant in his position than garnett, Garnett still hasnt proved us anything but TD already has!

Maybe that's where college experience comes in...because Shaq had Kobe next to him.
That was not the point of the discussion Kidd and Vins15...vins meant if TD ws soooo great, he wouldnt have been swept... And you saying...he had kobe...Vins15 could turnaround and said Duncan had a more usefull Robinson...so that argument doesnt really make sense...

Tue Sep 02, 2003 8:42 am
well, it is hard to compare nba superstars!!, some superstars have alot of help from there team mates which leads them to success and some superstars dont! TD has robinson while KG doesnt have any dominant player besides him,,,
I am still not saying that KG is better or vice versa!!
