Kareem demanded to be traded to New York or Los Angeles.
Hakeem made a demand to be traded to one of two or three teams but I forget what they are and can't find any stories on it right now.
Earl Monroe wanted to be traded to Chicago or Los Angeles, but accepted the trade to New York because he mostly just wanted to play in a big market. (After using the ABA as leverage.)

Really? The flip-flopping on whether or not he was going to ask for a trade, and demanding to be sent to New York and New York only? When has anyone ever done that?
Did he really flip-flop that much? I thought it was a case of making his intentions clear to the Nuggets then downplaying it in public.
It wasn't and he did, because he desperately wanted to be in New York, but not as desperately as he wanted the extension signed before the new CBA, and New York eventually figured out that they could get him in the off-season, which obviously wouldn't have got that done.
