I'm a fan of these two teams so I'm torn. Grizz in 7/OKC in 6
Sun May 01, 2011 2:50 am
Hard to say which of both good for the next round is, both are underdogs
Edit: Okay OKC in 6
Sun May 01, 2011 8:41 am
OKC in 6.
Sun May 01, 2011 3:55 pm
Thunder in 6 games.
Sun May 01, 2011 7:12 pm
so lamrock are you a fan of OKC because they used to be Seattle? or are you offended that they still use Seattle's history
Sun May 01, 2011 7:34 pm
OKC in game 6
Sun May 01, 2011 8:43 pm
As much as i hate the Grizzlies right now for raping my Spurs,i have to cheer them on.But i do not want them to win.So obviously my pick is OKC in 5.Yes that's right...5.
The only thing is that i have this gut feeling either Durant or Westbrook are going to get injured and that is the only way that the Grizzles would win the series. And it would take them 6 games.

Or if Westbrook starts chucking away

Ibaka should have a block-party every game, as Z-Bo and Gasol barely jump when they shoot.
Thunder in 5.
Mon May 02, 2011 5:37 am
memphis in 6 doesn't look so crazy now does it?
don't give in to the OKC hype!
Mon May 02, 2011 5:38 am
memphis in 6. Wow they really have had a suprising season.
Mon May 02, 2011 6:25 am
Oh gosh Z-Bo had another one of those games. The 18 turnovers is what hurt OKC the most. Memphis only had 7 of them. I still have OKC in 5. All they have to do is turn the defensive intensity up and take care of the damn ball.

Hate 'em. A lot of my friends became Thunder fans but I can't get behind them. A lot of it is principle and how bad it would feel to be living in Seattle when they win a championship (And I'm a Blazers fan, but it's hard not to root for the home team) but more than that I just don't like OKC. I don't like their players' personalities (Perkins aside) and there is just a really bad vibe.
GO GRIZZ! Make this like the first "upset" I call.
Mon May 02, 2011 6:25 am
Damn, OKC didn't have a shot. Z-Bo and Gasol just killed em.

Same here, but hate Grizzlies for their owner Heisley the liar. Go OKC. They underestimated the Grizzlies but will turn it around in game 2.

I'm shamelessly hopping on the Grizzlies' bandwagon. How awesome is this team?! It's incredible to think that a #8 seed that hasn't made the postseason in 5 years is a legit title contender.
Mon May 02, 2011 9:14 am

@ the Thunder taking care of the ball. Isn't that what every team says against the Grizz that turn the ball over a lot? Maybe its not the team and its the Grizzlies' defense for once. A team that got beat 3 times in the regular season is not going to underestimate them. They just got BEAT. Plain and simple.
OKC averaged like 17 or 18 turnovers against us during the season. I knew heading into this series that it wasn't going to be any different. How can you have the Thunder in 5 like they are just going to beat Memphis @ home? If anything, Memphis has a good chance at taking this in 4 or 5 "if" they win Game 2. If not, I see us taking it in 6. I originally had Memphis in 7, but pending Game 2 may change that.
OKC's ball movement is terrible. Their offense is very predictable and Memphis just knows how to play them. Who was that trying to tell me that Ibaka/Perk was going to limit Zach and March?
Boy, I tell ya.

Think the Grizz have a shot in the WCF should they make it?

how is Heisley a liar?
I was a big Seattle/Gary Payton fan back in the day (as the vets here can tell you) and it just pisses me off that this joke of a franchise is finally getting it together. i also don't like the personalities of any of the players on the team, except for maybe ERic Maynor. i like his style.
Lamrock wrote:Think the Grizz have a shot in the WCF should they make it?
i think they get smashed by LA or Dallas, which ever one makes it.
Mon May 02, 2011 10:52 am
Forgot to vote earlier. OKC in 7

He
promised fans that he'd keep the team in Vancouver when he bought the team. After a season later, became the MEM Grizzlies. It was obvious that he had no intention to keep the team in Vancouver anyways. The guy didn't try anything and never gave city a chance to keep the team here.
Mon May 02, 2011 11:38 am
It would had helped if you 'Vancouverites' went to the arena when the team is in town for some home games.
It's not all on Heisley; the NBA board, composed of the owners,
approved the move because of the poor attendance even if Heisley promised not to move initially.

Grizz have a good chance at making the WCF. I originally had them playing the Lakers in the WCF, but losing.
You are crazy to think that any team is going to "smash" Memphis. You can't smash a team that plays the way they play. You just have to simply out work them. Dallas definitely not doing because they are so weak. Memphis beat them 3 times in the season as well.
I'll be at Game 4 in Memphis on Monday and it will definitely be rockin' .

Did you still want your old account back, mafia? It's not difficult to retrieve your password; just shoot me an email at
andrew@nba-live.com and I'll get it fixed up for you. I can also reassign the posts from the new account to the old one.
Admittedly it's only game, but seems I may have underestimated the Grizzlies once again. I'd still pick the Lakers if they both make it through to the WCF but I wouldn't be heartbroken if the Grizz pulled off yet another upset there.
