I'm fucking tired of the Celtics ALWAYS getting the better end of close games.

And BS call on the Melo offensive foul.

I feel like if you're a Heat fan, you can't really complain about refereeing, even if it's in regards to other teams. Just bad form.

It would be if I claimed that every call they get is correct. I never once said that they don't get questionable calls here and there.
But just because I'm a Heat fan I'm suddenly not allowed to question a call, in a game completely unreleated to the Heat at that, anymore?

I'm rooting for the Cs, but the call on Melo was shit and that screen by KG is definitely illegal.

It's okay if the refs don't call a foul on such screens, because they should not decided close games with picky calls. BUT than they also should not have called the Melo charge, never ever. (N)

Not to excuse the officiating, but if you want to win games then ultimately you don't want to let it come to a situation where a call or non-call is going to decide the game. As noted in the recap, the Celtics led for just sixty seconds in the second half before Allen's go-ahead three, so the Knicks' ability to finish games and hold onto a lead is probably the bigger issue in the grand scheme of things rather than a couple of questionable calls.

I think the melo call was correct. His arm did go behind Pierce, that is what the ref called.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Knicks snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with lack of execution.

But that foul on Carmelo was bullshit. If Pierce does that on the other end, it doesn't get called.

I just can't understand how refs try to influence the game in the last seconds with disputable offensive foul calls. A clear foul is a clear foul, it's called more often on the defender and it has to be called no matter what the clock says.

But those picky offensive foul calls at the end of a game - they just seem to be too decisive to me. I know that fouls still have to be called, but maybe give the players a bit more freedom and fighting for position at the end of such a game.

I'm in two minds about that approach. I like the idea of "letting the players play", but at the same time I think if there's any time to make the correct call it's in the closing minutes of a tight game. Either way you call it, I'd say half the audience is going to be upset with the approach. At the end of the day if it warrants a call, make a call. Making the right call would obviously also be preferable in said situation.

The celtics play with a lot of heart and everybody knows Allen has his moments at the end of games so you'd expect that. I was disappointed on how Melo settled for that 27 footer when he could have just drove to the basket.(Maybe he was afraid that he'd get ticketed for another offensive foul) Celtics is 6.

I agree.

...and has any player sunk further than Landry Fields? He's been MIA since the trade.

I think Fields needs a trade. Before the trade, he was the second best rookie in the league. Sorry John Wall. Now he's playing like a usual 30-something draft pick. :(

I wouldn't be so quick to trade him, but he definitely needs to find his place on the team and be utilised to the best of his abilities. With Melo around there aren't going to be as many touches but they need to find a way for him to be involved and productive.

Wish I was. Sadly, they're only showing the second game of the doubleheader (Blazers/Mavericks) here. That could turn out to be a fine game too, but it'd be nice if they'd shown both so I could've caught this one.
