Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson to OKC for Green and Krstic
Thabeet and a Griz 1st Rounder to HOU for Battier
Aaron Brooks to Suns for Dragic and 1st Rounder
Gerald Wallace to POR for Joel Przybilla and a 2nd round pick
Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong for mike bibby Jordan Crawford and mo Evans
Nazr Mohammed to OKC for DJ White and Mo Pete
Marquis Daniels to SAC for $$$

Celtics' Luke and Erden for a CLE 2nd Rounder? :shake:

Fallen through
OJ Mayo to IND for Josh McRoberts and a 1st Rounder

Perkins leaving, bad for celtics future, green going to boston, very good celtics get better deal
Celtics deal:b+ OKC C+
Houston/Griz trade=Houston a, Grizzlies C-
Phoenix suns trade a- I love Aaron Brooks playing for phoenix, gaurd for the future and possibly now
Portland gets Gerald Wallace a for portland Charlotte gets a d veteran player bad pick
Washington gets Jordan Crawford a- Atlanta gets Kirk hinrich b-
Nazr Mohammed, DJ White and Mo Pete c- for both teams, DJ White could develop i guess
Sacramento gets Marquis Daniels c+ decent player Boston gets $$$ probably good, b-, could use cash to sign player
Celtics trade two young players Luke and Erden D, clevdeland lands a nice deal which i like, cleveland gets a b.

The best trade overall i think is a toss up between celtics getting Jeff Green, very nice young player and Portland getting Gerald Wallace, blazers needed a small forward, especially a defender like Wallace, good trade i think.

Who is going to stop LBJ and Wade driving into the paint on the Celtics now let alone Howard and Lakers bigmen? Garnett can't do it by himself, the O'Neals are always injured and Kristic isn't exactly the defender Perkins was.

Not to mention they traded almost their entire bench for next to nothing. If I was a Celtics fan I'd be raging now..good bye championship hopes this year.

I think Danny thought "Hey we won 2 games to Heat without Perkins, maybe we still can reach the Finals" (last one, Perkins played)

Re: Deadline Trades

Perkins for Green. Hm... One one hand it looks like they gave up the future. Then I realized that they actually got better and so did OKC! Green is more of a SF.
Marquis Daniels to SAC for $$$. Sacramento was too far under the salary cap. Marquis is a serious injury waiting to happen. Can you say waiver time?

OKC Depth Chart
C - Perkins, Nazr Mohammed, Aldrich
PF - Ibaka, Collison,
SF - Durant, Sefolosha
SG - Harden, Maynor, Cook
PG - Westbrook, Robinson

Boston
C - O'Neal, O'Neal, Kristic
PF Garnett, Davis
SF Pierce, Green
SG Allen, Wafer
PG Rondo, West, Bradley

Thabeet and a Griz 1st Rounder to HOU for Battier :turrible:

Aaron Brooks to Suns for Dragic and 1st Rounder

Rockets get worse and the Suns get a player that will take the reigns from Nash!

Rockets probably stay the same since the unloaded battier and got a nice bigman!
Houston A-, Suns B+, Grizzlies D+

Gerald Wallace to POR for Joel Przybilla and a 2nd round pick

New Blazers depth Chart
C Camby, Aldridge, Marks Oden inj
PF Aldridge, G. Wallace, Marks
SF G. Wallace, Mathews, Babbit
SG Roy, Batum, Williams
PG Miller, Mills
That team just got really scary!

Charlotte
C Przybilla, Kwame, Diop
PF Diaw, White, Najera
SF Jackson, Cunningham
SG Peterson, Henderson
PG Augustine, Livingston
Believe it or not but I think this team just got better!

Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong for mike bibby Jordan Crawford and mo Evans
So so trade in my opinion.

Boston
C - O'Neal, O'Neal, Kristic
PF Garnett, Davis
SF Pierce, Green
SG Allen, Wafer
PG Rondo, West, Bradley

They are putting all their hope in Oneals... jajajaja too bad

Re: Deadline Trades

Fri Feb 25, 2011 8:19 am

The Perkins deal is a real head scratcher. OKC seriously got better by making that deal but from Boston's side it's just...odd? Was Perkins problematic or something?

Are they looking to give Big Baby a starting spot? What the heck?

Or a more far fetched theory...Boston hopes the Thunder knock off the Lakers in the West and Green explodes on his former team for trading him away while Perkins fakes an injury in the finals just so that Boston can win it all.

This trade makes no sense. Perkins is like the Celtics' Charles Oakley. You NEED cats like this doing work in the playoffs. Was is a salary move?

Re: Deadline Trades

Fri Feb 25, 2011 8:51 am

From what I read on Hoopshype it could be a salary move, seems Kevin Garnett is flipping out as are the other veterans.

Taken with a grain of salt from third parties ofcourse.

Adrian Wojnarowski: As you'd expect, Celtics vets are livid over trade of Kendrick Perkins, sources say. He's the tough guy, enforcer. But BOS can't pay him.

WHAT

someone's desperate for roster spaces. these 2 were just given away. i also don't understand why the C's were so desperate in getting a backup SF too. rumors of Battier yesterday, but with Wafer as the only guy anywhere close to being able to back up Pierce, i guesss they really felt like they needed to do it. I don't see how Baby or Wafer could spend an extra few minutes backing up Pierce since Pierce will be playing most of the minutes anyways.

and what was the incentive for the Bobcats to move Wallace like that?

Mostly salary dump seems like thats the only thing MJ is doing at the moment.

Hope the first round pick is a high one for the Rockets' sake. Shame to see Battier get traded.

It is a shame, but PHX's pick probably won't be high. With a suddenly shallower West, PHX is likely to make the playoffs, plus Aaron Brooks is playing under Steve Nash, which means Nash doesn't have to choose between playing 40 minutes a game and splitting time with a D-league player (Dowdell).
Qballer wrote:and what was the incentive for the Bobcats to move Wallace like that?

Cap space apparently, although they could have moved Mohammed or Thomas like that and Portland would have still gotten a steal. Jordan wants to free up as much cap space as possible using expired contracts in order to get something big in the offseason. As for the draft picks, they're almost useless given the Bobcats' draft history. Anybody know who or when those picks are from? Cause Portland seems to have quite a few picks.

WTF is wrong with you? You replace Wallace and Mohammed with DJ White, Joel Przybilla, Morris Peterson and Dante Cunningham and you say the team got BETTER? None of these players are going to be any more than role players. Peterson barely finds playing on OKC, neither does DJ White. Przybilla and Cunningham play a few here and there. All we get are expiring contracts and draft picks. Not helpful.[/rant]

what a shame. cap space won't mean much if your team sucks and no one wants to sign with you and no one will ocme to see your games. kinda goes against what you were going for in the first place. so i assume Henderson will get a starring role now unless they play Livingston & DJ together in the backcourt.

Re: Deadline Trades

I LOVE the deals for the Rockets. Since they have scorers at every position, all that was needed was a shot blocker, and that's what Thabeet will give them. Also, I love Dragic, he will be a solid backup for Lowry. We gave away Battier, that's a real shame, but he was slowing down. Looks like the Rockets are winners in this season's trade deadline. :D

I'm also pretty intrigued at the Perk-Green swap, and Wallace for Przybilla. Perk with Ibaka is a solid defensive frontline, hope that's enough to thump the Lakers out West. As for G-Wall, playing him and Batum together would be one heck of an athletic duo, that should be fun to see. (Y)

+1. I don't like the trades for the Rockets, IMO. But Morey keeps getting picks, picks and picks.

Celts trade (N)... Blazers trade (Y) That Blazers team looks great for an association.
