I like that Reggie took it like a good sport. Great moment for Ray Allen, I'm glad I got to witness it. :bowdown2: That record oughta stand for a loooong time.

Good for Ray Allen! (Y)

It was a really nice three too!

Yeah, nobody other than Miller (obviously) is within seven or eight hundred of the record. Stojakovic and Kidd will never even get close as they are both nearly done for their careers. Plus, Ray Ray will probably play a few more years in the league. I hope he stays until he's 40. :D

Shame they couldn't get the win to go along with it, though.

In regards to Wilt, you have to remember he played the game to set records. That was his thing. Is it true he never fouled out of a single NBA game? I read in Bill Simmons Book of Basketball that he would stop going for blocks & do whatever he had to so he wouldn't foul out :P

Yea, its true. I also read it in an Almanac.

Despite the fact that Chamberlain was regularly double- and triple-teamed on offense and was relied upon so heavily on defense, he never once fouled out of a game in his 14 years in the NBA. In at least one game, he accumulated five fouls during the fourth quarter, and the game went into overtime, but still he did not foul out. (Six fouls is the personal limit.)

Apparently he also didn't foul out of a game in any level, like high school or college.

Not really.
He once said in an interview that if he knew people/media would make a big deal out of it a few years later after his career is over, he would have padded his stats. I think that was in regard to Kareem breaking his record for most points. Of course he could be saying BS but the man really was dominant. Bill Russell acknowledges it, so does Kareem and countless other bigs he faced.

Might have more to do with the teams early in his career depended on him quite heavily that with him being out the offense or rebounding would suffer significantly.

Seeing the parts again where Reggie congratulates Ray gives me goosebumps.

There goes what little value it had of my Reggie Miller card collection. Made me recall a 'bet' with my friend on who would replace Reggie as the premier shooter in the league. He picked Ray Allen, I went with Michael Redd. Ah fudge it.

A great achievement by Ray. (Y)

His moment coulda been better if was coupled with a win over LAL, but seems like his achievement totally overshadowed the team loss anyways.

He may say that, but anecdotal evidence recounted in Simmons' book does suggest he was aware of his records and their significance and did chase them to a certain extent.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but, Peja Stoyakovic can make a little history as well. Jason Kidd as of this moment has 1754 3 point shots made, and Peja is tied with Dale Ellis with 1717, i think. I know that Dale and Peja are tied for fourth right behind Kidd.

Peja's still active and could pass Jason Kidd, Kidd is not as good of a shooter as he once was, but is still pretty decent from the three point line. Do you think Peja will catch up to or pass Jason Kidd and take over 3rd place all time?

Kidd actually made a career-high 176 threes last season, so he hasn't lost his touch. If Peja can get minutes for the next few year, I think he can pass Kidd.

If Peja stays on fire like he was last night, then it's possible. He's four years younger than Kidd. I'm thinking Kidd will retire in a couple years, but hopefully Peja's got a couple more years in him as well. I think Peja's got more time to sink threes than Kidd does. Plus, Kidd's not a high-volume shooter. He's not sinking three or four 3s a night, something that Peja could probably do, asssuming he stays healthy.

Wha? Would you be more surprised if you learned that Ray can also dunk on fools during his Bucks-early Sonics days?

Yes, i'm definitely surprised to hear that Ray Allen can dunk, because i've never seen him dunk before. I didn't keep up with Ray Allen during those days. I didn't get serious about the nba until 2008, although i've been an nba fan for decades.

He threw down a nasty dunk in 2K11 that got everyone out of their seats. :)

He threw down a couple of dunks in the same game he broke Reggie Miller's record.
