Well he was extremely efficient and played defense. Basically the polar opposite of Jermaine "The Drain" O'Neal's playoff performance.

Haywood was effective on the floor in those minutes he played. Ever heard of PER or ORtg?

lol, I'm pretty much sure the entire (if not, most of the) NBA knows about metrics. I'm sure they know their job, maybe except David Kahn.
Hindsight is a bitch too I guess since the team had no idea of the effectiveness of a player's production until the game/series was over.

You're just resorting to personal attacks now because you can't pull off any more idiocy out of your ass.
Yes, I'm insulting you too but at least I back up my opinions with proof and not proclaim shite sayings like...

I'm getting used to Lamrock's rule of 'don't touch/use the ball to become efficient and better'. If both of u go by that rule, fine. He was the 2nd/3rd best player. Now somebody pay him the big bucks.

Lamrock raging about Carmelo is different from raging about Haywood, IMO.

Haywood isn't a scorer, the Mavs have Dirk, Terry, and Butler (and Kidd lol) for that. Haywood isn't with the team to 'touch/use the ball' and be a third or fourth option on offense, he's with the team to play defense, rebound, and other things he needed to do which he did very well as opposed to The Damp who had $12mil in salary last season compared to Haywood's $6mil.

Carmelo is a scorer, there are things he does well despite being a chucker, as Lamrock and others have argued in another thread.

Stop with the brain diarrhea already. At the rate you're going even Badger or koberulz is going to make more sense than you.

Like I said, if that makes him the 2nd/3rd best player, so be it. Having watched the series thoroughly, can't really agree with you two, but obviously we have a different standard. Anyways that's outside of our real issue. I'd still start Chandler over Haywood. Chandler I think has more upside than Haywood.

And keep on resorting to personal attacks. I notice that's your best bet at winning any conversation. Take that as a compliment.

I'll be lame and throw out the fact that Haywood was second in win shares for the team with 0.6 in that series. (Dirk "choker" Nowitzki led the team with 1.4)

I understand though. The emotional roller coaster of signing the two best players in the league, then having them both go down in the span of the week can fog up the brain

So I see. Not agreeing Hay being 2nd/3rd best player means my brain is fogged up. Crap. Shouda known...

Applies to what? ZanShadow continues to not make sense that I won't bother reading the rest. Not reading is what ZanShadow does best.

Someone needs to know what satire is. Yes, I'm using the term loosely.

Instead I'll just post highlights from one of the newest Mavs...

What's with the Shadows arguing about?

Anyway, I would definitely start Haywood over Chandler, because he rebounds better and defend better than Chandler IMO and I think he match up well with most of the Western Conference Centers anyway.

Dallas eliminated in 1st round, with a dramatically Game 7. HAHAHAHAHA!.

SORRY.

I was thinking that Dallas needs a great C for years, I still think it. Chandler is not enough.

I still believe the only thing Dallas needs is someone that can take that scoring load off from Dirk. Still hoping that Butler will be that guy and not just become a Josh Howard 2.0

dei., exactly my thoughts. With Terry getting worse each year and Butler not showing up, the Mavs are only a one man team with some above average role players. Hope they can turn Chandlers and Butlers contract into something big. Hell, get CP3 to Dallas!

Even though I didn't watch that Mavs vs Bulls game, I hate how the Mavs got like a 8 point lead and all of a sudden it almost slip away. :shake:

Definitely one of the best teams in Mavs history. At least for me

Personally I think the 02-03 Mavs was the greatest team in franchise history. Dominant offensively, capable defensively. Got unlucky against an equally excellent San Antonio team. The Spurs, Mavs and Kings that year all belong in the "teams of the 2000s decade" discussion, IMO. Sacramento won something like 59 games that season despite pretty much being hampered by injuries throughout, and of course they lost Webber in the Game 2 blowout. I'm not sure if the Mavs win that series if Webber hadn't gone down, and I'm not sure the Spurs would've beaten Sacramento either.

The late 80s Mavs, before the Tarpley fiasco must have been pretty darn good as well, and the 05-07 Mavs won't be too far away, but talent-wise they weren't quite as strong and sort of benefited from a pretty weak NBA.

Isn't 02-03 the season where the Mavs got into the Conference Finals with the Spurs and lost due to Dirk being out? Or is that where they still have Jamison and Fatoine Walker? The season I have become obsessed with the NBA is think the last season Nash is still in the team. Then 05-06 was the season that I know and love the Mavericks and Keith Van Horn and Desagana Diop

Yeah, they also were a Chris Webber knee injury away from losing in the second round.
