I think he'll come off the bench mostly at center behind Biedrins, sharing minutes with newly acquired Gadzuric as well as with Wright at PF, depending on foul situation and whatnot
This whole LeBron thing may help UDoh's development heaps in the long run by providing him a legit big man role model right from his debut season, as well as taking off at least some of the rookie year pressure since at least an equal if not more amount of eyes will be focused on how Lee is performing
Lee's only missed 8 games the past two seasons so he's durable (knock on wood); he's a lock for 15+ pts, 10+ rebs nightly and will (hopefully) inspire a 'hustle' culture/work ethic to not only UD'oh but the remaining Warrior bigs
I'm starting to warm to the Lee trade. The W's have been focused on players with 'potential' since forever which hasn't taken them anywhere, so maybe Lee's arrival marks a shift to a 'win now' attitude; guess it remains to be seen who they'll bring in to help relieve the SF spot

On a high octane Warriors team, Lee might be closer to 20 & 10

Agreed, he posted 20 and 12 last year for the Knicks.

Nice interview with David Lee; good attitude, no-nonsense type guy which is great. He and a healthy Beans are a promising duo in the W's front court.
http://www.nba.com/warriors/news/warrio ... 70910.htmlAlso seems Morrow might be on the way out (bummer) as Dorell Wright prepares to come aboard:
http://www.contracostatimes.com/warrior ... ck_check=1On Wright: has he been coming off the bench in Miami and is he a legit starting SF just waiting for his turn?
Sun Jul 11, 2010 5:41 pm
So the Warriors let their best young talent go, instead opting to give a big white guy a big contract, and locked up most of their cap for the next few years with an overpaid, offensively inept, injury prone big man and an inefficient scorer who can't defend. Least there's an impressive young fringe all-star scoring guard and an ever-so-exciting rookie big man out of a small school. As much as I like to complain about my Blazers, I really pity you Dubs fans.
I just don't think Troy Murphy, Adonal Foyle, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Jason Richardson and Ike Diogu will make you guys contenders any time soon.
Sun Jul 11, 2010 6:08 pm
Contenders?

Right now we're just trying to contend for that 8th spot; you know the West is vicious and has been for a while
It is a frightening déjà vu scenario, though I'm hoping the pieces are upgraded this time: Murphy, never was an All-Star though came close in '04-05; Foyle, Bah! no hands, no touch, no mobility, no contest compared to Beans; Bumleavy Jr. no defense, no heart, soft as room temperature butter during a heatwave; J-Rich, no killer instinct nor ability to create his own shot like Monta. Plus they didn't have a solid playmaker/scorer like Curry
need more info on Dorell Wright from Heat fans in the know though... Martti?
btw, i was sorry to see Randolph go too (not to mention 'buike); but it's not like we let them go for a 2nd round pick and spare change either
Sun Jul 11, 2010 6:23 pm
Don't forget those dismal Warriors also had Baron Davis, who is basically Stephen Curry's ceiling...
Randolph, Turiaf and Buike were dealt for Troy Murphy sans 3pt range. In a weakened Western Conference, I'd like to think the Dubs have a chance at making the playoffs, but even if Brandan Wrong waits until the season begins to suffer his obligatory season ending injury, Monta Ellis (who was far worse than Jr. ever was this season) becomes efficient again, Udoh becomes better than Diogu, Biedrins becomes a double-double machine again, and there's a sniper at the all-star game, Nellieball guarantees another 50 loss season.
Sun Jul 11, 2010 6:37 pm
Wasn't Troy Murphy still with the Pacers??
Sun Jul 11, 2010 6:40 pm
I was alluding to the 2005-06 Warriors.
Sun Jul 11, 2010 6:52 pm
Not so sure on Curry's ceiling; Diddy never had a 3pt shot to open the floor like Curry, never had Curry's consistency at the FT stripe nor did he avg more in scoring til his 3rd season in the then Charlotte Hornets. Cutting Curry off at Davis is a bit short-changing him, no? Guess we'll know more this season
Agree though about the Nellie regime, but which likely (or hopefully?) will be ousted once the team is sold; I've read of Brian Shaw's name among others as a successor, but all that's just hearsay for now
Sun Jul 11, 2010 6:55 pm
He sure fired them up like he had the shot.
Sun Jul 11, 2010 7:15 pm

that he did
don't get me wrong, i aint knockin' Baron; he gave us the only playoff run in what... 60-70 years? feels like that anyway, and at the expense of pouting Mark Cuban and the then-reigning MVP too nonetheless. Classic.
I know Curry, Ellis & Lee aren't exactly young Parker, Ginobili & Duncan but it's a start, and a better one than we've had in a while.
Sun Jul 11, 2010 7:28 pm
Just think back to the 1970s when your team was beating up on most of the other coked-out, best talent is playing in the other league, teams.

Duncan's name shouldn't even be mentioned alongside those defenseless GS bums.

Bah. Players are going to do whatever their coach's system tells/allows them to do. Granted Duncan's a gifted talent w/supreme bball I.Q., those 'bums' of GS would've at least tried to play more D under a more defense-oriented coach, say a JVG or someone,
anyone non-Nellie. If Timmy had Nellie as his rookie coach, he might've been broken like Pat O'Bryant, or given his work ethic, chucking treys as accurate as Dirk for all we know.

Pre-dates me by a bit but would've loved to have seen the underhand FT in action.

DAMN IT
this must be an NBA first... 1st-rd draft pick cripples himself for half a year without even playing a single Summer League game!?
this isn't Nellieball anymore... it's
NELLIEBANE.his very existence within a 100-mile radius of Oracle Arena is just bad news to all rookies
Tue Jul 13, 2010 3:01 am
Looks like another Blake Griffin.
Tue Jul 13, 2010 3:43 am
or Oden, though i'm certain uD'OH won't have near the careers as either when all is said and done; at best i hope for a Marcus Camby lite; but who knows... can't know how he responds in the pros til he actually PLAYS A GAME!

grrrr

Morrow to the Nets
http://www.contracostatimes.com/warriors/ci_15499416But it wasn't the offer sheet he received from the New Jersey Nets, which would've given the Warriors seven days to decide whether to match or not. Instead, Morrow signed the contract with the Warriors, who then traded him to New Jersey.
In exchange, the Warriors get a $2 million trade exception — half of Morrow's first-year salary — they have one year to use.
that's 4 so far... wonder who's next?
Tue Jul 13, 2010 4:34 pm
That's a bummer, since Morrow is better than Dorell Wright. If it makes you feel any better, he declined last season.
Tue Jul 13, 2010 4:47 pm
yeah, bummer in a sense that there are players you like just because you like them; Morrow fit that category. but Wright supposedly plays much better D, so we'll see how that pans out; plus now we have TWO Wrights! which can't possibly make a Wrong...Wright?
at least it's nice to see the organization making some pretty decisive trade moves early and w/the extra $2 mil, perhaps they're not done
Tue Jul 13, 2010 5:20 pm
Understandable. I was sad to see Steve Blake get traded from the Blazers, and he wasn't even that good. Dorell may play better defense, but its hard to tell what players' defensive capabilities are in Nellieball. He has stepped up his three-point shooting these last couple seasons though. At 6'8", 210 lbs, he looks like a great backup power forward for the Dubs (once the other Wright suffers his season ending injury)

6'8" 210lbs? he's much too heavy and imposing for a Nelliebane PF; he'll need to lose some weight
