If Salmons is returning, perhaps Redd will be out the door after all.

And where will Redd go?Maybe as a JJ replacement at Atlanta?

I hope Jazz resigns him

Depends, sounds like there's a good chance Johnson is staying in Atlanta. I think anyone who misses out one of the big free agents might take a chance, if only to take advantage of his expiring contract next season.

The Celtics have reached an agreement with captain Paul Pierce to keep him in Boston, according to sources.

The new contract is said to be four years in length, with only three of the seasons fully guaranteed.

Pierce opted out of the final year of his contract earlier this week. He was set to make $21.5 million in 2010-11.

The financial figures of the deal are not yet available, but he is expected to make significantly less than the $21.5 million he was going to make.

good good but we need ray back and one or 2 other key players added to the roster to make a real run next season. hopefully we can trade sheed and pick up a free agent, rumors of mike miller and brad miller.

Those two would be a nice addition to the bench. And if Rondo comes to camp shooting like Mike Miller, get ready for another good playoff run.

If you get Ray-Ray back, he'd better not shoot himself out of every game like he did starting Game 3 in the Finals.

Real Madrid has signed Sergio Rodriguez, who was most recently with the Knicks.

Rodriguez also played with the Blazers and Kings while in the NBA.

The contract runs through the 12-13 season.

The Suns have agreed to terms on a four-year, $18 million deal with free agent forward Hakim Warrick, sources tell Marc Spears of Yahoo!

Warrick played with the Bucks and Bulls during the 09-10 season.

Hopefully David Stern pulls some strings to drive down NBA player salaries in the next CBA. What's going on right now is absolutely ridiculous. Hakim Warrick, Drew Gooden, and Darko Milicic do not deserve all that they're getting..and Joe Johnson just raped the Hawks salary-cap-wise.

i will take my chances with allen no hitting such a bad slump again. besides if the celtics could some how manage to get mike miller if allen hit a rough spot we can bring in miller to be our shooter. over looked was allens defense in that series

Yes, I noticed that too, but when it's Kobe Bryant you're defending, you HAVE to step up your defense, and that's exactly what Ray did.

Man, teams are crazy for mediocre bigs, they sure spend a lot.

I hope Warrick does well with the Suns. He plays like Amar'e as far as dunks and tendency to take jump shots so maybe he does better now with Nash then last season sitting on Bulls/Bucks bench. I doubt the Suns pay him 4.5M a year to sit on the bench.

With Nash throwing alley-oops galore, who wouldn't be good?

Apparently Amar'e is close to joining the Knicks. There would be a lot of pressure on him by the fans to deliver if Lebron isn't the other max FA though.

Max contract?!
That's a BIG risk for the Knicks

Earl Boykins?

OK, I should've added "who wouldn't be good among people that can dunk and receive alley-oops". Happy?

Not to mention, Stoudemire's been knocked over the years for a halfhearted attitude towards roleplaying skills sets (rebounding, post defense)

not to mention he wont have nash making him look better than he really is

Then he's perfect for the Knicks and this coach.

WFAN just announced the Amare contract is worth $100mil - WTF?????

yup, that's what foxsports is reporting as well. supposedly the contract could be done as soon as tonight.

Any news of players getting re-signed by their team other than JJ and Rudy Gay?

Re: 2010 Free Agency Discussion Thread

I'm hoping Nets sign David Lee & then somehow get their hands on Melo

Reason for wanting Nets to sign Lee is Knicks have underappreciated him for so many years, I'd love to see him doing well for cross-town rivals.

Question to all. Who would you want? David Lee for $10-12 mill per year or Amar'e for $20 mill per year? I'd take the former. They both don't play defense but at least you get strong rebounding out of Lee. He doesn't need plays run for him either.

So my campaign to get Lee to New York Nets has started  So glad he didn't go to Portland last year :P
