Scott Brooks named Western Conference coach of the month for February
Brooks led the Thunder to the best winning percentage in the NBA during February (.818) with a 9-2 mark, as Oklahoma City posted a winning record for the third consecutive month. The Thunder opened the month with seven straight wins, extending a winning streak which began in January to nine games, before falling to the Phoenix Suns on Feb. 23. Brooks' bunch posted a 5-1 road record on the month, improving their season record away from home to 17-12.

I wouldn't be too surprised if he ends up taking Coach of the Year honours.
Wed Mar 03, 2010 1:34 pm
3 in a row

Durant 39 points + 10 rebounds, Westbrook 30 points + 13 assists.
Big game at Denver up next.
Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:06 pm
Yeah amazing combination for 69 points and can't wait to see his matchup against Melo
Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:54 pm
Melo didn't play last time they met did he? Thunder won. So it should be interesting this time around.
Thu Mar 04, 2010 2:40 pm
Well that was really disappointing. 69 points combined last match, only 30 today

James Harden with 19 points though is a slight positive.
Hope for a better performance against the Clippers next up.
Thu Mar 04, 2010 4:13 pm
Can't blame the Thunder Melo was hot and the Nuggets are a top team. But the performance from Harden was a positive.

I Bet Durant will get an MVP trophy someday.

Someday? He will win the MVP trophy this year!

All he has to do is keep performing like he is and get OKC to the play-offs and he is in with a shot I would imagine.
Although, 8 of the last 10 MVP's have been from the team with the best record in it's conference. The other 2 being Nash in 05-06 (PHO 3rd in West) and Duncan in 01-02 (SAS equal 2nd in West).
So history may be against him. OKC are only 4 games behind Dallas though, so who knows how the standings will look after 82 games.
Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:39 pm
I think he'll get a fair few votes but end up finishing third or fourth in the MVP race. I still think Brooks stands a good chance of being named COY though.

Nope.

Found a video about Durant's 29 game streak. It shows his stats during the streak at the end.
Sat Mar 06, 2010 4:00 pm
Good win against the Clippers. Durant 32 points.
Mon Mar 08, 2010 2:36 pm
Physical game against the Kings. Westbrook coming back with a swollen eye and gets 13 points in the fourth to seal the win.
Thunder win the season series 3-1.
Fri Mar 12, 2010 5:52 am
Just like in your story Phil, Durant's playing really good.
Sat Mar 13, 2010 1:24 pm
Nets caught up at the end, but a win is a win. Thunder's 40th of the season and 4th in a row.
Durant with another 32 points. But Green was leading the scoring for most of the game, and finished with a season high 27 points.
Mon Mar 15, 2010 11:33 am
Big win against the Jazz. Durant with 35 points, Westbrook 30 points + 11 assists.
41-24 now, only half a game behind Utah in fourth

Thunder are officially my least fav team, and Durant my least fav player

What's the reason behind that? Is it because the Thunder defeated your Deron and Co.?
Mon Mar 15, 2010 1:20 pm
Because OKC should be the Sonics, and Kevin Durant is a massive tool in Sit's association

Each to their own. Nothing to do with the fact they just beat your team though obviously
I don't know how you could dislike Durant. He seems like a level headed, hard working young man who appreciates the opportunity that he has been given.
He has no ego. He doesn't need to be the centre of attention like other superstar players. He is happy to get his team mates involved and just be part of the team. He is also very humble, and doesn't take as much credit as he should. Which is what I like most about him.
Even when the OKC fans start the MVP chant when he is taking free throws, he just smiles and seems to be slightly embarrassed by it all.
Tue Mar 16, 2010 5:24 am
Now days I can see many jumping onto OKC bandwagon since they start winning. I'm sure there weren't that many at the beginning of the season to mid.
Here's a random question. I haven't really been paying attention to this team since they moved from Seattle(the reason why I hate them so much). So I am not sure what made them so competitve this season. What are the major factors for this turn around from the worst team last season to a pretty good looking playoff team. I know a development of KD is one, but that can't be all.
Tue Mar 16, 2010 6:28 am
IMO, they have a decent GM. His rebuilding plans for the post-Ray Allen team was derailed with the franchise moving and all that drama.
