Unless he gets injured again.
A fully healthy McGrady can do damage in any season, but you never know when an injury might flare up again or a new one might happen.
I saw some footage of Luol Deng after his 'breakout' season doing explosive strength exercises and thought the same thing about him doing 'damage next season'. Then he got injured. I think Andrew or any Bulls fan can tell you what happened after that.

Mind you, Deng doesn't seem to have McGrady's aggressiveness nor his skillset. A healthy McGrady would really only have to prove he can stay healthy as it's likely he could be counted on to produce in that scenario. Deng not only has to prove that he can stay healthy, but also live up to his potential. That said, from a basketball standpoint I'd still be hesitant to trade Deng for McGrady given McGrady's injury woes but with T-Mac's expiring contract, it's not a completely unappealing thought.
