Wow, I didn't expect Josh Howard to rack up 25 points. I thought your performance will decrease if you do drugs...

Anyway, I'm leaning towards the Spurs on this one, but I have a strange feelings that the Mavs can also pull this one away. Weird. I guess it could go either way but since the Mavs have already steal game 1 they now have an advantage unless the Spurs can steal back a game in Dallas.

It depends on the type of drug. May be he took an upper instead of the NBA common downer (weed).

Spurs in 7 for me, because Duncan will remain Duncan. But they still won't go very far after that without Super Manu.
So bummed out with this year's playoffs, San Antonio and Boston are pretty out of the picture already...

Josh Howards Performance was big, but when you recapture the game again... He had alot of wide open shots he got from the double teams of Dirk and JT, and they passed the ball around to him. So he had to make these high procentage shots somehow. You give him the ball to be the go-to-guy, then his performance would be much lower. It's that the Spurs said, give him the ball and let him shoot, it's better than Dirk shooting...

Much harder shots took Brandon Bass in the low Post and JJ Barea was a surprise offense effort in the game of the Mavs in the second half. Once Duncan stepped out to help, Dampier was the King under the Ring and could make the second chance points out of the misses of Barea. All in all a solid team effort and good bench support.

You knew the Spurs' run would come to an end - happens to all great teams. Like Chuck Daly said, eventually all those games(exhibition, regular season, playoffs, finals) will take a toll on your players.

San Antonio's run looks more iffy than Boston's. Never underestimate the current Bulls team's ability to squander opportunities. If nothing else, they're a .500 team up against a 60+ win team, I'd like to think they've got a better shot but right the only thing they've done for sure is avoid a sweep. It will take quite a bit of overachieving for the Bulls to win or even just push the Celtics to the limit but San Antonio were facing a more legitimate challenge even before Game 1.

Spurs are struggling, they're finding it really hard to beat the Mavs.

Damn, watched the start of the game. The Spurs were really off tonight.

Edit: Read the Yahoo article, Pop gave up at the third quarter by pulling Parker & Duncan out. Damn, what happened to persistence and never giving up. But I guess that was the smarter move.

Duncan needs to step it up a bit. But then rest of teams are miserable except for Parker. Too much to carry for TD and TP. They needed to make some moves this season.

What a lacklustre performance by the Spurs. I still wouldn't count them out at 2-1 but if the Mavs go up 3-1 I don't see the Spurs becoming one of the rare few to come back from that series deficit. 4 points on 2/9 shooting, a couple of rebounds and not much else in about fifteen minutes; very odd to see Duncan end up posting a stat line like that.

I think Barea's been a X-Factor so far in 2 wins. His footspeed really bothered Tony Parker and rest of the team. Dallas seems to be much faster with him playing well and aged Spurs just can't keep up. No wonder he's got the starting role this time.

It's not like Barea has been incredible, he's not even shooting 50% through three games. He's been an X-Factor because he's taken half of Antoine Wright's minutes. Now if they can only take the rest and give them to Terry and Bass/Singleton.

Mavs beat Spurs 99-90
Tony Parker droped 43 on the Mavs

It's depressing to see Dirk doing so horribly in this series, yet the Mavs are still winning :?

Dirk hasn't been that horrible, his shot isn't falling as well as normal but he's not turning it over or hurting the team. Terry on the other hand, has been horrible.

Tony Parker had 31 by half time and 43 overall yet the Spurs lost. :scold: That says a lot.

A little of both perhaps. The Spurs obviously aren't at full strength but the Mavericks have done a pretty good job of taking advantage of that and refusing to roll over just because they're the seventh seed and were dealt a seemingly tough card with the Spurs owning homecourt advantage coming into the Playoffs.

Dallas is the sixth seed. As a Spurs hater, I am really happy that they are on the verge of a first round exit. Being the Spurs though, I won't count them out until Dallas gets that fourth win.

Seeing how Luis Scola is performing in Houston, I reckon the Spurs were stupid for not holding onto his rights... he was going to come and play eventually.

And too bad Spurs might not make the next round. I guess this season just wasn't their season...
