Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

well that's ok but your a bulls fan Andrew, you got to believe in them they stronger than the C's now the C's only won because of a 3

Oh, I wouldn't go that far. I'm a Bulls fan but at the end of the day they're a .500 team going up against a 60+ win team that is capable of playing better than they did in the first two games. Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased that they got the split in Boston but I'm not calling it a series by a long shot. Anyway enough of that, I'll keep it in the Bulls/Celtics thread. :)

Wow, another close game.
Thaddeus Young was pretty lucky on that last shot. Losing the ball allowed him to avoid getting called for a travel and hitting that left handed layup against the DPOY.

Yep. Pistons/Sixers 2008 revisited. Magic in 6.

Another win and what a game by Iggy :headbang: 4th game will be crucial, if Philly wins, they will take the series, if not, then the Magic will get back their home court advantage and I don't think they'll slip again.

I'm inclined to agree, the Magic don't seem poised to make a comeback from being down 3-1 if it comes to that.

Yes Baby He-do-It again in 4th-Quarter. Mister 4th-Quarter-Man Hedo Türkoglu

Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:27 pm

Damn, if Hedo didn't make that three the Sixers would have had a good chance at getting a 3-1 lead. Damn. :(

Huge game by Dwight Howard but he threw a very dirty elbow that in all rights should've got him tossed. I have to echo Charles Barkley's sentiments here (the incident was shown during the halftime show of Bulls/Celtics), I like Howard but that elbow was dirty and he should've been ejected. There's "playoff fouls" and playoff intensity, but some things are dirty no matter what part of the season you're in.

You have right Andrew, that was a very dirty elbow of DH12

Here is the Big-Strong-Man Who is then Courtney Lee  Huh a Rookie in my Magic-Team

He's suspended for Game 6

It's disappointing for the Magic but fair's fair. Had the referees had a better angle during the game he would've been ejected as well as receiving the automatic one game suspension so they were fortunate in that respect. With Game 6 in Philly this one might be headed to seven games after all.

If that elbow incident happened against LeBron James then he'll be ejected right away and he'll be suspended for two games. Too bad it's only against Dalembert.

Thanks Andrew for the Info (Y) :) That sounds not good for the Magic-Team damn :x but what else, I believe on Marcin Gortat and Tony Battie :D
If not maybe Patrick Ewing would like to play in Game 6 :cheeky:

Here the Preview

That's a big blow for the Magics. Let's see if the Sixers can take advantage of his absence.

I get where you're coming from, but I honestly doubt it. It was a pretty straightforward situation and the fallout was standard procedure, Howard's just very fortunate they don't check the replay in that situation during the game.

Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:35 pm

Had they check the replay at the moment it happened, Howard will be ejected and the Sixers might have taken game 5 home.

Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:45 pm

With the expansion of the instant replay this very season, I wouldn't be too surprised if they extended it a little further to include incidents like this.

Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:54 pm

And they should. Everytime incidents like this occurs and especially one where they cant see clearly what happened, they should definitely watch the replay. It can be costly for a team if they dont.

When they first introduced the extended use of instant replay I was actually relieved and pleased but as the season has come to an end I think I can safely summarise my very own opinion that they didn't use it as often as they should and that they didn't really make good use of it as they could have had.

man, there is 3 team i cheer for at East: Miami, Chicago and Orlando. so if those two will dissapoint me, i would cheer with my whole power for magic! D12 deserves to go at least to the finals this year and if this happens, i wish him only wins! phila amazes me with their wins wothout Brand, but this series isn't going to be ther benefit, it belongs to Magic!

I suppose the downside is that overuse would really slow the game down and could turn into a bit of a farce, but implemented properly so that only the most crucial or questionable calls may be reviewed (bad angles, clock issues, foot-on-the-line and so on), especially if they eventually allow calls to be challenged a finite number of times.

Surprising the Orlando is leading without Dwight and Lee...

But still early in the game... Let's see if they can keep this up.

Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

Fri May 01, 2009 10:17 am

It's still early yet though and the lead is not insurmountable. It could be headed for a seventh game yet.

Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

Fri May 01, 2009 1:20 pm

I spoke too soon. The Magic take the series handily in Game 6 even without Howard. A gallant effort by the undermanned Sixers though but Lamrock called it, shades of their series with the Pistons last year.

Re: (3) Magic Vs. (6) Sixers

Fri May 01, 2009 3:33 pm

Wow, Marcin Gortat led the team in minutes played.

Pretty nice game by him

Yes Orlando Magic is forward :applaud: :headbang: Man what's going on with Samuel Dalembert and his elbow :shake:
