Well, remember people, the off-season is still young.... I highly HIGHLY doubt the Clippers are done trading or signing players. Right ow, the team doesn't look good without Brand or Maggette....But you never know what happens!

Does Davis still have to sign with the Clips? Can't he decide to not sign with them, free agents don't offically start signing until the 9th right?

Now Brand and Maggette are gone. The clippers will try to get Josh Smith or Emeka Okafor

I think It would be a mistake to get Okafor (too many injuries like Brand)

Josh Smith not a superstar too but worth the deal.

I suggest the clippers to hire young guns such as Turiaf, JR Smith, Najera
and to deal with the blazers to get Travis Outlaw.

I'd much rather have Josh Smith then Maggette or Brand, to be honest.

serious?!? I'd take Brand in a heartbeat....I can see why 76ers went after him....Iggy was never going to be your number 1 superstar....he can however make a great number 2....Dalembert will be better playing next to Brand....Andre Miller has always been underrated....shame they got rid of Kyle Korver though, but then again, the deal probably opened up cap space to get Brand....shame Carney's gone, I like him....great deal for T'wolves....

Iguodala is a lot more valuable then Brand, if you ask me.

I feel bad for Clippers fans, hoping that after Davis took less money, Brand would then resign with the Clippers.

Though for Philly, this is one nice starting 5:

PG: Andre Miller
SG: Andre Iguodala
SF: Thaddeus Young
PF: Elton Brand
C: Samuel Dalembert

Based on him being better then both of them.
Not to mention younger and more reliable too.

Now that's a bit of a stretch...

While he's certainly better than Maggette, being an impact player on the defensive end, let's not forget that Brand is a dominant post defender and a great scorer, who unlike Smith happens to possess a decent jumper.

Smith might be a better fit for a running team, like GS or the 76'ers (before Brand), but he would be redundant there, as he is a dinamic player, great finisher but with no jumper.

Besides, Brand isn't that injury prone, and last year was a probably a fluke. He had been pretty consistent in the last years.

Nevertheless, I do agree that Smith has the potencial to become a better Player than Brand, but right now, I don't think there's a contest.

Given that, If I were the Warriors front office I would much rather give 10 million to Smith than 8 to Maggette. What a dumb deal... Mullin went Adonal Foyle on us again.

Well, in the Sixers case, I'd probably have chosen Brand as well. Just because they were lacking a big man, but in general... Josh Smith is the only way to go.

He hasn't officially signed yet so it's not a done deal but I don't see him backing out of it.

I just got the news like a minute ago and was like OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. I gotta change my pants cause I think just came (no homo).

I still can't believe it. DAMN. Y'all wouldn't believe how happy I am. I mean after about 7 years of mostly misery it finally looks like being a Philly fan is gonna be fun again. I just got back home from university and now this. Damn, damn, damn. I need a drink or something.

Sorry for interrupting the discussion. You can continue now.

You just keep on topping yourself with ignorant statements.

Elton Brand is one of the top 5 power forwards in the league when he's healthy.

Philly just jumped everyone in the East except Boston.

Elton Brand is one of the top 5 power forwards in the league when he's healthy.

Right...

Kevin Garnett
Tim Duncan
Amare Stoudemire
Dirk Nowitzki
Chris Bosh

There's five off the top of my head.

Benji, I guess I could make a cute chart like that too.
I think I'd include their assists per game, steals per game, blocks per game, and their age.
I think it'd look a little different then.

I wouldn't say so.
I would put Boozer over Elton Brand as well.
There's a lot of people that are better then Brand.

philly becomes a better team with this move for sure. top 5 or not, proven 29 years old 6-8 power forward with wide body, is definitely a rare commodity. if he's fully recovered, the money is well worth it for philly.
