Other option was $100 million over 6 years, which ain´t that bad

It's actually $100 mil over five years. Either way, he could be looking at a cool $20 mil per season if those are the offers on the table.

Sorry, my bad. Anyway latest news is that Baron is close to going to Clippers. Deal could be made on Wednesday

I think Brand is going to stay, know that they have Davis. Watch out if they can re-sign Maggette.

Livingston must be preparing to leave the city. :-(

Tough break for Livingston, but it would be sadder if he didn't suck.

Wonder if the Clippers will do good with Baron. Either way, I love using teams with roster adjustments in Live. Baron's Clippers vs. RJ's Bucks = win!

So much for my prediction. Huge blow for the Warriors but a fine move for the Clippers if they can keep Brand and possibly Maggette as well.

He's actually taking a paycut to join the Clippers, if the rumoured figure of $65 mil over five years is true.

^And if the rumors of a Mobley for Crawford swap are true, the Clippers 5 of Davis - Crawford - Maggette - Brand - Kaman could be an awesome one, if healthy.

Indeed. If nothing else, I could see it being a popular lineup in NBA Live/2K.

i'm pretty sure clippers have to cut maggette if they have any chance of keeping brand+davis. it's a better team for clippers but i don't see them going playoffs next year.

the clippers are probably not keeping maggette any longer. he's not a baylor favorite and they probably can't afford to sign b-diddy at 13 mil and brand somewhere around 11 mil and still sign maggette to a deal around 9mil
PPL r a little feisty these days:D

^They can't keep Maggette even if they wanted to. They had to renounce his contract to sign BD.

At ryan6liu unless both Brand and BD get injured they will definatley make the playoffs.

Sweet, Baron Davis is a Clipper. I think it shows you how much they want to keep Elton Brand. It's easy to let go of Corey Maggette. There is this guy on the team called Al Thornton. I hear he is pretty good. 8-)

5 years for 65 million. that's a bit of sacrifise. hope it will turn out to be worthy enuf in the end for baron.

oh the other hand, Arena is offered almost double the money. i think he's taking it.

i figured u'd be ecstatic over this Clips move(s)...it's good to hear EB taking a bit of a paycut to make the BD deal possible:

BD
Cuttino (Crawford?)
Thorton
Brand
Kaman

looks straight killa to me (Y) the Lake Show needs to make a deal (a defender?) to stay atop the LA teams :P

they are already calling the clippers a possible top 4 team in the west just with the addition of Baron. Playoffs maybe, but top 4?

Damn I just realized the Warriors could field a pretty good team w/ the players they have let go, Arenas, Jamison, Dumblevy, Murphy, Boykins, Hughes, Sprewell, Richmond, Hardaway, and Webber and now BD. WOW not a bad lineup.

It is a bomb to the Warriors... but they have some bench that can replace him

Monta Ellis the PG, they can give Bellineli some minutes at SG, he's a great shooter... they have Azubuike too and Pietrus

Davis was the heart of the team with Jackson... I don't know why he leaves when Don Nelson an the Hiper mega uptempo game revived his career...

Top 4? In the West? I would rate the #8 Nuggets higher than them. The Clippers will be lucky to steal a low seed away from Phoenix, Portland or Dallas.

yeah top 4 is a bit of a reach, infact its way more than a bit. i can see them getting a playoff spot but if i was to predict how the west would end right now i would probably have them in 9th

 First JRich, and now Baron!?!?! Who's next.....
Wow, this was just unexpected. Baron was the last guy I would expect to not be in a Warriors jersey for the 09 season. I'm not too excited about acquiring Arenas either as he's too full himself and an and with him on the Warriors, the passing game will be totally non existent.

I doubt this will sway Nelson to stay with the Warriors after the 09 season and with him goes our playoff hopes.

When it does become official, I wish the best of luck to Baron and hope he makes it to the ASG, though all the votes from the Bay Area will be going to Monta now.
