yeah and you're forgeting Jermaine O'Neal and Baron Davis...are they not all stars? are they not leaders on their playoff teams? yes they are

No..........Jamal Mashburn is the leader of New Orleans.

but come on your not serious
your saying that world championships team is as good as the olympis team???
kobe,t-mac,duncan,j.oneal,kidd,AI on the team

nooo that's not what i'm saying

what i'm saying is showing up on the court won't win anything...like i said twice already,if they practice together for a week there is a chance of them losing

like they had the best team last year, they will have the best team next year....like the last year's loss proves having the best team doesn't mean anything

OHHHHHHHHHH
so your saying that they had the ebst team anyway, without having the BEST players in the league.
ok i getcha

i guess you make a point now
sorry :D

Actually, the problem with team u.s.a. was that they had the best players but not the best team, at least from what I read about those games.

the fact that George Karl is not coaching the usa team guarantees usa will win the whole thing

i think everyone is ecpecting oo mcuh of the players, the starting 5 will have the most stats, the rest wont, i think that they can win easily as long as they have good vets and leaders, kidd, and lot more karl... with out some1 who can put theri foot down it will be anouther playground game that they will lose..

i still belive that the 92 was the best team ever in the whole of basketball, it was full of players who knew the game, who understood what they came here for, not some1 who wants to do the whole thinkg by himself and dunk ove 7'2 guy!!!

u have to play hard against bad teams, and the whle of olimpics would be a bad team, good teams are the once that can play at high level vs very good teams AND can be consistent enouph to beat the bd once.. eg bulls of 93 i belive with 72 record!

Thu May 08, 2003 12:31 am

the '96 bulls had that 72 win season

They used to say just send the the NBA Champion to compete, but with all the international players on the teams, they would have problems with this. What if Sacramento for example won? They would have no Divac, Hedo, Stojokovic for their team. I just was throwing this in for something to add to the team idea. Richard Jefferson is such a disappointing choice for me to understand. He is just a pretty good player without much of a jumpshot nor much of an all-around game. If the team is going to be filled out with guys to sit on the bench behind Kobe, McGrady and the rest, then I guess I understand the selection. But I still think Pierce is so much better, a good person, a team player and a terrific all-around talent. It disappoints me is all I am saying.

I know All-Star teams are just that and just for one game, but if you talk about great teams of all-time, take a look at this team:

1966 Eastern All-Star Squad

G-Sam Jones - Boston Celtics
G-Oscar Robertson - Cincinnati Royals
C-Wilt Chamberlain- Philadelphia 76ers
F- Jerry Lucas - Cincinnati Royals
F- John Havlicek - Boston Celtics

Reserves
C- Bill Russell - Boston Celtics
F- Chet Walker - Philadelphia 76ers
C- Willis Reed - New York Knicks
G- Hal Greer - Philadelphia 76ers
G- Adrian Smith - Cincinnati Royals

They defeated the West 137-94
The West team had Rick Barry, Jerry West, Nate Thurmond and Guy Rodgers among others.
