I Pick Celtics in 6
Where historic rivalry happens ^^
Sun Jun 01, 2008 5:00 am
I honestly believe Kobe will have his way with the Celtics, I don't know why...but I really think he's gonna play better than he has been playing.
Perhaps I haven't watched enough Celtics games this season.

Tim Duncan in 2003; and it does seem pretty likely.
Pierce is going to guard Kobe, right?

Celts in 6 but i won't be surprised if neither team wins
and to that whoever has those flowers design on their curtain who's asking what to wear... depends what color lipstick you are wearing

Lakers in 6. Kobe's gonna destroy everything.
Sun Jun 01, 2008 6:54 am
Ok.. You all knows i am a Lakers fan from 3 years.. But actualy I started to watch them this year... And i am really impressed form what Kobe's doing all over the sasson.. ANd i really like it.. I love his jumpers and fadeways.. I like his game in all aspects.. But also i am with very good feeling about the other guys in the LA team.. And the starters and the awesome bench.. I think that this young and progresive team have a great chance to get the NBA tittle.. and not only for Kobe. For all the players there.. And do you know what, Jackal, you was wrong.. It is The whole Lakers team > all
And in there other side.. There is the team with the best record in the East and the team with the BIG 3 player =).. THey had a impresive sasson too, but i think it will happens like with Real Madrid (soccer) befor 4 years: Big Stars, Big players, big expectatioms - but what - no Champions League Cup at the end : (
Sun Jun 01, 2008 6:57 am
Realistically, I'm gonna say Lakers in 7, but I'd rather see Boston win it. I get the same feeling that Jackal does, that Kobe's really going to up the ante for this series.
I didn't expect this matchup to happen, but this is going to be one exciting NBA Finals to watch.

Really? I'm looking at the experience factor in terms of playoff experience, and LA has a few key players that has been in the Finals and won championships: Phil Jackson, Kobe, and Fisher. The bench's inexperience probably matches up well with the Celtics young guys, but the C's big three all have never been to the Finals, as well as Doc Rivers, so it's hard to say that the C's experience > LA's. Sure, Sam Cassell's been there and done that, but I don't think he would make as much as a presence as Kobe, for instance.

To me there isn't a difference between "finals experience" and "playoff experience". The Lakers have one guy who has been in the spotlight his entire career, having to make big plays in the playoffs. The Celtics have 3 guys who have been in big situations so I think they have an advantage when it comes experience. Plus their bench is alot more experienced. P.J. Brown, Cassell, James Posey... they have all had significant roles in deep playoff runs before.

I pick Celtics in six.
Because Paul Pierce is amazing. He's the executioner of opposing teams in the playoffs in the last games in each series. Top scoring against the Hawks, matching up LeBron's production, unstoppable against the Pistons.
If Kobe is going to guard Pierce, Ray Allen is going to hit it. Odom and Gasol will be too busy guarding Garnett.
Kobe is going to have his usual ridiculous performance but I expect Pierce to step-up as he always does when the Celts need him.
I just hope the Celtics' roleplayers do a good job to offset the Lakers effective bench and that Doc Rivers does his homework in going against Phil Jackson.
I don't think the Celtics home-win road-loss habit will be a problem again, I believe the leprechaun has finally managed to take road trips during the playoffs, as seen in the Celtics road win against Detroit, to magically help the C's.
Sun Jun 01, 2008 11:27 am
I am hoping for a good finals game. I think this will go to a Game 7 series. Since i dont know which team i will root too, my prediction to the series will go to a Game 7.

Man the lackers and kobe cryant dick riding is at an all time high now...all over the net and even in the media.
"Kobe Bryant is hands down the best player in the world and no one comes even remotely close to his level of skill since michael jordan. Infact he might even be better than Jordan simply because he can shoot 3 pointers. Chris Paul and Lebron and Garnett are peons compared to him. He won the mvp since november 2007....he's going to win the finals MVP when the lackers win in 2 games and he's going to win the gold medal at the olympics...then he's going to rule the world and fuck every white women in the world who will subsequently extort him for fame and money....yay!!!!"
I started out the season supporting kobe and the lakers because of the effort they've been putting out over the past couple of years ...but that was until the basketball world suddenly decided he was the second comming of JESUS fucking CHRIST and the rest of the lakers were his angels. The rest of the league became his peasants and the dick riding unjustly commenced. The sad thing is....this is his worst season in the past fucking 4 years....but he gets MVP. The afforementioned basketball world decided that....hey..we fucked up and gave it to steve hash the year kobe averaged 35 ppg because we thought a white guy should win it a couple times....and we fucked up and gave it to dick dowitski last year when lebron should have gotten it. So lets see....he's been in the league longer than lebron and paul...and lets use LeBron having a shitty team as an excuse and make up for our bullshit by giving it to kobe this year. I seriously can't wait for next season to start....
end of rant....
Celtics in 7 btw....:P

It's either him, Ray Allen or Rajon Rondo. Ray Allen plays
NO DEFENSE WHATSOEVER. And if he (Pierce) can play halfway decent defense on Lebrick, he might have a chance of stopping #24.
Lakers in 6. Kobe scores 30 a game and locks down on Ray Allen.
X-Factor=Sam Cassell

Neither team will win?
I'll go for the Lakers no matter how long it takes.

Celtics in 6... I see Kobe trying to take over a game from 2nd quarter instead of getting the team involved and coming up short in a one man show. Kevin Garnett MVP averaging 28pts/13reb/5assist/2blks/2steals.
Kobe will drop 40+ at least twice though. The one big difference is Ray Allen will be Ray Allen and not a scrub like he has been for most of the playoffs. He'll get locked down a bit, but still hit some critical shots.

Aside from the Rookie of the Year plum, Lebron will never win anything until he retires or maybe a gold medal because Kobe's now with the USA national team. I think we should go straight to what the topic really is and not include players that are losers. Let's respect Kobe, the Lakers and the Celtics. They really deserve to be in the Finals and they fought hard to get in to the top so hopefully posts like this should not be posted. Your Celtics in 7 btw is not an excuse.

I'll go for Lakers...maybe in 6 or 5(if Kobe became inpatient)...
Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:09 am
Lakers in 7. Really wanted to see the Pistons in the Finals after Spurs got knocked out.
Kobe will be unstoppable in the Finals, but then I want to see the Celtics Big Three win a championship too.

He was talking about the excessive dickriding.
"Celtics in 7" wasn't his excuse, he was ranting.
Mon Jun 02, 2008 1:55 am
i would love to see lakers win because they are my fav team but i wouldnt care if the celtics won.... because KG, ray allen, and pierce all deserve a ring and i would love to see rondo win a ring because he played at UK and i am from kentucky...... so either way.... i will be happy. i think lakers in 7 because kobe has led them too far to blow it now and the celtics cant win a series without going to a game 6 or 7. also, i am really tired of all the talk about how kobe cant win a championship without shaq.

i know its off topic a little perhaps we should move a discussion of gold medals to the global hoops forum; but our USA team isnt exactly a shoo-in anymore. Putting a bunch of random guys together does not make a team.

LOL
I started a thread on that. I'll be sure to restart it in the near future.
