Wow, i expected more from the rockets, now they are 0-2 and with 3 games visiting the jazz (N)

Tue Apr 22, 2008 2:36 pm

Its two games visiting the Jazz, but it looks like a sweep. What a waste of a playoff spot.

Tue Apr 22, 2008 2:48 pm

Damn, I was definitely rooting for the Rockets. Will Yao and T-Mac ever be healthy all season long?!?

Tue Apr 22, 2008 3:02 pm

Even when they are healthy, they aren't that great. (See 2006-07)

Go Jazz!

So going 52-30 in the season to finish 5th, and losing a close game 7 against the higher seeded Jazz isn't considered great?

It's the West... it's as good as the Rockets can get with a inconsistent Rafer who was easily outmatched by Deron.

Tue Apr 22, 2008 3:08 pm

True they underachieved last year, but with a better supporting cast this year, I feel they might have been able to win, if they were all healthy. Even T-Mac's not a 100% right now, but whatever. Jazz will lose to the Lakers in 6 next series.

I don't think we can blame Tmac for this game. The guy gave a hell of a performance! 23pts 12 rebs 9 asts. He played hard and tried to do everything for a team that is lacking Yao and Alston. Unfortunately, this series might end in a sweep :(

Actually they were 4th. But who is counting. This year Rockets 4th Jazz 6th. If Houston had Yao I think they would win this series in 7 game maybe stealing 1 in Utah for 6.

i think you can blame him as he vanished when the game counted. 1 point in the 4th should be unacceptable

OK, how about someone mention that Kirilenko flop? That was ridiculous, even worse than the one he had against the warriors last year.

Wed Apr 23, 2008 8:15 am

I think the reasons of Houston's defeat were:
Scola 4 - 11 from the field
McGrady scoring only 1 point in the 4th
Williams' outstanding performance

Wed Apr 23, 2008 9:01 am

The reason for Houston's defeat: Utah is a better team.

He still pushed him/put a hand on him so he could not get to T-Mac. It's not like AK just ran by him then jumped out of bounds for no reason. It is the thought that counts so to speak. Plus guys from south america flop way more. Crack down on them first.

Thu Apr 24, 2008 7:02 am

And everyone called me a hater when I said I wasn't impressed with Houston's winning streak over almost all sub-.500 teams and predicted they would win a max of one game in the playoffs.

If they had Yao it would be a different story. The jazz were the last ones to beat them before that streak though.

lmao, it's the thought that counts?!? Awesome, we've got a whole new way of judging fouls.

Read it again. It doesn't matter If he flopped he was still fouled.

Thu Apr 24, 2008 7:19 pm

I dont know whether he got fouled or not, but to me [in my opinion] Scola was just trying to gain position and YES, he did push Kirilenko so it doesn't matter if he flopped or not because he was fouled. The only issue was that he was exaggerating too much and it looks ugly. That's all.

It wouldn't surprise me if they're not. McGrady's missed an average of 20 games the last three seasons or if you want to exclude the 2005/2006 season where he missed 35 games, an average of 13 games over the last two years. He'll probably be like Kevin Johnson, never appearing in all 82 games but likely able to be pencilled in for around 70 games each season. With Yao playing basketball all year round and suffering major injuries the past two years, he might be headed down the same road.

It didn't exactly cost the Jazz the game though, they're still up 2-0.

Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:58 am

a flop now and then i can handle, with manu its constant. i hate how bell flops constantly too but it seems to be the only way to stop manu from flopping. run at each other both acting like fucking idiots and see who is the better actor.

Fri Apr 25, 2008 3:13 pm

Damn, the Jazz could have had an easy sweep but they really Dirked it up in the last few minutes. They even had another chance to win it again but they blew that too with their poor execution.

Back to Houston for Game 5, win or lose the next game. :(

Fri Apr 25, 2008 3:35 pm

What's with the damn officiating? Landry gets his teeth knocked out, and no fucking foul. If Bobby Knight was in Adelman's shoes, he probably would've killed one of the refs on that missed call. What's worse, if Knight had on a Utah jersey, the refs wouldn't have even given a damn.

But a win is a win nonetheless, Rockets deserved that one.

Did you even see the play? Have you ever played a b-ball game in your life? arms fly everywhere it happens.

Utah missed 13 freethrows that is the only reason they lost.
