I'm surprised too. Those four of you who said hawks in 6 should be pretty happy right now. The Celtics will win the series; but damn. I'm impressed!

I picked Celtics in 7.
But I hope that wont become real.
I would love to see Atlanta in the second round... after 9 seasons without playoffs, I would be a nice surprise, and a headache for Boston.
I'm wondering which series will be the next GS.
Detroit - Philadelphia or Boston - Atlanta.

well the only good news is, i have game 6 tickets now

Neither. Both will go down in 6.

Haha and all of my friends was saying im wrong that this wont be a sweep.
Boston in 6.

A sweep or 4-1 series win seemed such a safe pick. This is probably going to spark a lot of talk of an impending upset but I still think the Celtics will get back on track and finish it off in six. So much for my original prediction though.

It looks like there is a possibility that KG might get a suspension. This might dampen my dream of a Celtics/Lakers finals match-up.

The Hawks won't win this series, but a 66 win top seed possibly needing 7 games to win the series against a 37-45 Hawks team won't look good.
The only way Hawks will win Game 5 IMO would be a KG suspension. Can they prove me wrong?

What the hell, like Golden State's upset over Dallas last year.
Wed Apr 30, 2008 1:01 pm
According to
Yahoo! NBA's preview, there won't be any fines or suspensions.
Wed Apr 30, 2008 2:46 pm

No-Balls Association. They didn't have the cojones to suspend anyone.
Wed Apr 30, 2008 3:12 pm
But if you step on to the court after your teammate is assaulted, and your name isn't Tim Duncan, you get suspended.
Wed Apr 30, 2008 3:13 pm
He just gets ejected for laughing on the bench.
Wed Apr 30, 2008 3:15 pm
Yeah. The diagram is complex. Laughing in the NBA signifies a boxing match challenge.

Maybe after last year's controversy, the league is thinking twice before suspending players in the Playoffs. I'm more surprised that the league didn't suspend Jason Kidd after he
flipped Jannero Pargo given it was ruled a Flagrant-2 foul and he was ejected.

It'll be a never-ending cycle. Maybe next year we'll get more dangerous fouls and altercations because they haven't suspended anyone yet. Until someone gets injured, or some serious shit happens. Then what?
Besides, Stern himself said last year that the rules are rules and it wasn't something to be argued.

Celtics kicking the Hawks ass as expected right now in G5. I wonder what would be happening if KG wasn't playing.
Thu May 01, 2008 11:54 am
The fact that Perkins and Williams weren't suspended for leaving the bench during an altercation is a bit strange because that one is supposed to be an automatic ruling. In cases such as Kidd's flagrant foul and Garnett's alleged elbow at Eddie F. Rush, it's a judgement call based on review of the footage. Obviously upon review, they didn't think either of those incidents warranted a suspension which I thought was appropriate in Garnett's case but I'm surprised they didn't suspend Kidd, not that it made much difference in the end.

even if kg got suspended, or perkins and williams, i still would pick the celtics to have won game 5. not overly surprised the hawks won 1 game but i never would have picked 2. whatever though like i said i get to go to game 6 now and watch them out the hawks in atlanta
Thu May 01, 2008 1:37 pm
It doesn't seem as much as a foregone conclusion but I don't think the Hawks will be making the upset or forcing a seventh game either.
Fri May 02, 2008 2:40 am
yeah i think its done in 6, though i am also glad they lost a couple. dont need them to start getting big heads and fuck up.
Sat May 03, 2008 12:49 pm
Wow; looks like Sauru's support won't be enough. Hawks up 5 with a minute to go, and it looks like they will be a bandwagon favorite. I seem to have a knack of making a dynasty with team just weeks before everyone bandwagons them.
I still want the Celtics to win this series, but lets see it be our only 7 game series; an unlikely one!
Edit: Hawks win; despite Bibby choking it up by splitting the FT's. If Atlanta wins Game 7 (disrupting the Home team wins trend, like Utah last year), it will be much, much bigger than Warriors/Mavs, and likely being the biggest upset in NBA history.

Pity it's not in Boston Garden, and how can a team get "revenge" on another team for a playoff loss when none of the players were involved in that series?
