Jeeze, he lost your respect? The spurs wouldn't have even got that extra possesion if he didnt get that offensive rebound. And alot of great, great players have missed clutch free throws. Malone, Pippen, and now Duncan.
Im sorry, but MVP's just dont miss them shots(i said hes lost my respect for mvp, not as a player) and MVP's dont get over shadowed by a 19-20 year old rookie playing in his first playoff game.
and John Mullins, despite T-Macs year he doesnt have anything on KG for the award.
KG he will get it.
with Kobe in 2nd then prolly mcgrady/duncan or iverson in 3rd.

Ah ok sorry mate I misunderstood. I never really liked Duncan's chances for MVP this season tho

MVP = Most
Valuble Player
How valuble can T-Mac really be if he can't get a team past the 8th spot? Garnett on the other hand has his team with homecourt advantage (not like that will help them at all against the Lakers

) in the west, which is the tougher conference. Orlando wouldn't even have made the playoffs in the west. Whereas the T-Wolves would be the number one team in the east.

well he's very valuable if he can get that team anywhere. take t-mac out of that team and see if they can win a game

Take Garnett out of Minnesota, they suck. Take Iverson away from Phily, they suck. Take Duncan away from the Spurs, they suck. TMac isn't the only player in the league that gets it done with limited help.
Speaking of losing respect, what about Kevin Willis?? That shot on Scott Williams was dirty, he was trying to elbow him in the face. Worthy of the one game suspension

KG's team is a lot worse without him than the Magic are.
Take KG out and u have a team of Wally,Hudson,Smith and A.Peeler as the only decent players. Terrell Brandon also when healthy.
T-Mac has Gooden(a future potential Star) Giricek,Armstrong,Kemp,Garrity. and Grant Hill when healthy
now which lineup would u prefer. ???
T-Wolves without KG: Nesterovic,Smith,Gill,Sczerbiak,Hudson/Brandon
Magic without T-Mac: Kemp,Gooden,Garrity/Hill,Giricek,Armstrong.
Now seriously, which team would you prefer???
lol i think i'd take the Magic team.
Tue Apr 22, 2003 3:06 am
Hill doesn't count because he's always injured so I think I'd take the Wolves.
Tue Apr 22, 2003 3:17 am
Hill doesn't count so I'll take Minny, but Brandon doesn't count so I'll take Orlando.

The Spurs tied the series up today with a 84-76 win against the Suns. Jackson and Duncan both played alright, but it was nowhere near the Spurs best, they will have to improve if they want top go further than the first round. Tony Parker played terribly, so Claxton got his minutes and produced. Interesting to see who Popps starts next game in Phoenix.
Tue Apr 22, 2003 12:55 pm
damn i thought the suns had them when thye went on that run.
Duncan actually showed why he got mvp last year this game.
he came through in last couple of minutes
Tue Apr 22, 2003 1:03 pm
Has he got your respect back now that he hit those 2 clutch free throws??
Tue Apr 22, 2003 1:08 pm
hey i have always had respect for duncan, i said respect for mvp, not him as a player.
i still dont think he is the mvp of this season........KG done so much better, also with the likes of kobe and t-mac, it would be very hard to give it to duncan again. especially when kobe set career highs in nearly every statistical category for himself and set a bunch of records.
KG despite missing wally for 30 games and brandon for the season, he got his team into 4th place.
i just cant see duncan getting mvp again(well i can coz the sports writers and commentaters love this guy).
oh well ill spose we'll see

DAMMIT I wanted the Suns to win. They'll still win the series though, so it's all good.

Like the Pistons/Magic series, there's a fairly good chance the 8th seed will pull off an upset, but the odds are still in the favour of the 1st seed. I'm going to mimic my latest prediction for Pistons/Magic, and say Spurs in 5 or 6.
Sat Apr 26, 2003 2:46 pm
San Antonio 99, Phoenix 86
final
if phoenix don't win game 4 at home...then i'd say that it's all over...
Sat Apr 26, 2003 2:53 pm
Quiet game for Duncan offensively (11 points) but huge game on the boards (23 rebounds). I agree with Pavel, if the Spurs go up 3-1, then the Suns' chances aren't very good.
Interesting that the two 1st vs 8th matchups are mirrored between the conferences (Magic up 2-1 on the Pistons).

It seems mp3's feeling was correct.
Phoenix tied up the series at 2 games apiece with their 86-84 victory in Game 4. Tim Duncan had a good game, 24 points and 11 rebounds, but he did turn the ball over six times. Meanwhile Tony Parker had 19 points, but no assists - not exactly what you want from your starting point guard.
Quiet game for Amare, 7 points and 6 rebounds before fouling out, having only played 23 minutes. Nice game for the Suns' backcourt, Marbury with 18 points and 7 assists, Penny had 13 and 7.
