Haha, the season is almost over. Why couldn't the Rockets have waited until the summer to scam some other team to take him and some bad contracts along with him. I would think that some team would still be high on Green's potential.

1). He was an unrestricted free agent after the season anyways.

2). No team in their right mind would take on a bad contract to get Gerald Green. Potential or not, the guy does not have a good reputation in the league.

The Wolves gave up on Gerald Green even before he played a minute for them. He was never part of the future here in Minnesota. As soon as we made the Garnett trade we rejected his option and allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. Pretty much all but assuring that his future was not as a Timberwolf.

Any predictions as to where he will go? Obviously the Draft and other offseason transactions will bring some changes but looking at some teams where PT may be up for grabs at Green's position, some of the possibilites include the Grizzlies (though probably not if Navarro remains), Clippers, Sonics, Sixers, Hawks, Bobcats and Wizards but with all those teams he'd still be fighting to oust someone else in the depth chart and without the right attitude or competitive drive, probably wouldn't put in the work to make that happen.

to be fair, from how he has played so far all he can have is an upside, not gonna get much lower than he is now lol

He seems like he would be a good fit in Washington with the cast of characters they have right now. He seems like a Wizard-kind of player.

If he put in the effort, he could probably crack the rotation in Washington given how thin they are at shooting guard right now.

If Brand decides to jump ship and leave the sinking Clippers, I'm thinking Gerald Green could have a shot with the Clippers. Provided that if Brand does go, Mobley and Corey Mags are on their way out of the team too, he might be able to become a part of the Clips rotation. Of course, the Clips would be wise to have some other back-up young back-up swingman who will battle with Green for minutes; with the reputation Green's developed, I doubt any team will give him free reign to be their primary shooting guard or small forward.

That's certainly a possibility as Brand and Maggette can both opt out after this season but I'm guessing the Clippers would prefer to re-sign them and trade them rather than letting them walk for nothing; in that case, the Clippers would want to at least try and get someone decent in return, much the same as if they were to trade Mobley who's signed through 2010. That might not leave much of an opportunity for Green though if those three players were to depart he'd probably have a decent shot as long as no noteworthy players at his position were coming the other way.

Damn, if I were a GM, I sure wouldn't gamble on this kid.
Plenty of D-league players WITH a work ethic AND brains out there to pick from. I think he hasn't ruined his reputation completely yet, but I figure it won't take him too long.
He's just a liability...

They might not have the same talent though and in most cases not nearly as much actual NBA experience which is why a player like Green should still attract some interest, at least in the form of an invitation to training camp.

I always hate seeing athletic swingmen who start off so highly touted as a draft pick before they're drafted, and then turn into bums without a team. Maybe if I start posting often enough on here again I'll start a Gerald Green-based dynasty....

It will be a travesty if Green doesn't not sign with someone buy the end of the year

I wouldn't go that far, especially considering there's not many games left in the regular season and he won't be eligible to play in the Playoffs.

Well the Heat opted to sign Bobby Jones rather than Gerald Green, so that says something about Green...

Perhaps, though if his attitude is a problem it's going to make teams think twice about giving him a chance as it's not as though he's a proven superstar. Beyond that, the timing simply doesn't favour a return this season. His chance will likely come this offseason.
