Fuckin' Thuggets!

Sun Dec 17, 2006 2:55 pm

Melo will get something high.
Remember the no tolerence act ?
So with this happening I can see this going up to 10 game suspension for Melo.

BTW, hipn, why you got my girlfriend Misa Campo on your dp ? Haha

Smith will be out longer than 5 games. Also melo came back after leaving the brawl and punched Collins. I think it will be somewhere around 20 games.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 2:57 pm

More of an actual fight in this one than the Pistons-Pacers brawl, much closer to a street fight here. The thing at the Pallace wasn't really much between the players, only after the fan threw the cup was there something happening.

You're acting as if Mardy Collins did the most damage here. You're kidding me; yes he committed a flagrant on Smith, but JR ridiculously overreacted to it. Unlucky for the two teams, not all of the reamaining 4 players for each side weren't able to keep cool and try to end the fight right there (in the Pistons-Pacers thing, atleast the teammates who were on the floor at the time (well with the exception of maybe Rasheed  , and maybe Stephen Jackson, can't remember) were all just mostly trying to keep the peace). In this fight, Nate Robinson and Melo immediately took exception and started swinging at whoever they could see.

I think Robinson and Smith will both have the longest suspensions, with Melo suspension length just slightly shorter than those given to Robinson and Smith. Collins a few less than Melo. Wouldn't be surprised if there were a few 1 game suspensions handed out also.

On a side note, at Melo for the fact he sucker punches Collins but runs like mad away from a 5-9 Nate Robinson.

Smith overreacted? Collins clotheslined the guy with BOTH arms! If someone did that to me, I'd be pretty pissed too.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:07 pm

Melo is a fool, him and JR are good friends and he did what any good friend would do and back him up, but because of his status he shouldnt of got involved. The reason he backed away from Nate after he hit him was because he didnt really wanna get involved and knew he made a mistake.

I hope he gets what he deserves so it can teach him a lesson, hes gotta control his attitude.

Looks like we are in need of Iverson now more than ever.

Did yall catch the new Jordan Melo logo?

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:08 pm

Denver is going to get the bad end of this. 4/5 Nugget starters ejected and up for suspension. And Najera is also pretty important to the Nuggets lineup. It'll give the bench guys the chance to shine for a couple games.
At least they still have Boykins.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:10 pm

Not everyone will be suspended. 10 guys were ejected but they ejected everyone on the court. Some of them didn't even do anything.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:11 pm

Atleast this takes some heat off my Pacers!! LOL

Exactly, up for suspension.
Either way this could put a dent into Denvers record.

In comparison to other flagrants and reactions by other players, yes he overreacted. Maybe a bad example, but Kobe's reaction after being clotheslined during the playoffs by Raja Bell is great. Kept his cool, and got his revenge by playing a great game and helping his team win the game. Yes, I know you'd be pissed after something like the foul Collins did, but still, he overreacted.

EDIT: After taking a second look, I see that it was Nate Robinson that escalated the situation.

The difference between Kobe and Smith is Kobe is a pro where Smith is still a juvenille.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:20 pm

Stern is going to be pissed off about this.
Punish Carmelo by making him to continue using the new ball.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:23 pm

Carmelo needs to learn to keep his cool. Remember the 2004 playoffs where Anthony Peeler punched KG right in his face? KG was smart and realized his team needed him to win. Carmelo needs to realize that same thing. He is a great player and his team needs him. There is no reason for him to go get himself involved in that. He should have been trying to break it up.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:30 pm

The Knicks and Nuggets are gonna have some fierce battles in the future, especially Melo and Robinson.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:30 pm

Yeah Carmelo should have not got up in people's faces, Atleast the NBA has a new Rivalry going (Y)

I think so as well. When everyone was separated everything was fine until he started talking crap, acting like a wigger (I know he's black) and swinging his hands. I dont see why midget man had to get so hyper when nobody was even paying him attention.

Anyways, I loved the Melo punch. Normally you see some wussy punches that dont even connect but he got him good. If I was him I'd run too seeing that the whole team woulda probably went after him. Didnt you see them holding backs Knicks on the sideline?

At least one positive came from this. This opens up playing time for Dermarr Johnson. 8-)

i got excited when i heard the word "brawl" only to see a less than impressive highschool like scuffle.

lets see......Collins, Nate, Melo & JR are looking at 10-20 games probably, based on Indy vs fans.

Sun Dec 17, 2006 4:01 pm

I think the league needs to crack down hard on Collins for the flagarant. Remember it was a flagrant which caused the malice in the palace as well. Stern needs to send a message to the players that these hard fouls are unacceptable. JR Smith also needs to get a good suspension for retaliating; totally unnacceptable. After that, Nate Robinson needs to be suspended for acting like a freakin idiot. Melo deserves a good suspension because he is a superstar. Stern needs to send a message.

[homestarrunnner accent] This does not look good for the NBA [/homestarrunner accent]

Wow I must say I'm shocked. I did not expect it from Knicks, I did not expect it from Nuggets. Knicks is a struggling team slowly regaining it's confidence and I conisdered Nuggets more or less a contender.

Though I got to say, it seems like AI is about to head to the right team. Probably sooner now than later, Nuggets will need men on court.

But, this might also mess up the Nuggets-76ers trade bigtime!

That's because KG doesn't punch opposing teams players, only his own teammates.
