I like what the Bucks are doing. This move gives them role players and enables them to switch Bogut back to C, which is exactly what he needed. I'm also starting to like the TJ Ford trade - he was a bit too selfish, his size isn't overwhelming and he would cost too much when the time for his extension comes. Mo Williams will be a suitable (and cheaper) replacement and Blake is very underrated IMO, someone who will make a top notch backup PG and bring playmaking and change of pace off the bench. Skinner will be a great 5th big man to come off the bench (behind Bogut, Charlie, Gadzuric and Joe Smith) and Ha can be simply cut.

Wow, you're really going out on a limb here

I am. I'm saying he's going to stay in school all 4 years.
People have been speculating that for months... "Greg Oden will have a career threatening injury in the first game of his collegiate career and go on to become Samuel Dalembert lite" would've been more of a reach.

I dont understand why cut Ha? We need size, and he still has some potential. I would like to see what he could do on the court.

Really? I haven't seen anyone say that, everybody is always talking about next years number one and Greg Oden. I know some people who know Greg pretty well and they tell me his plan is to stay in school, that's all I'm basing it on.

I've seen it mentioned a few times on RealGM, though most do see him as one and done.

He's useless that's why.

Indy only says he will be there for 4 years because he's an OSU Fan.

He has a small but noticeable weakness...he can't actually play basketball.

That is a stupid move (only a question of $)
Bucks could have get better players for Magloire
at least Blake is a good one but Skinner is getting old and Ha is........well I don't know (Korean maybe)

There's no gain money wise at all. Magloire was an expiraring contract, as are the acquired Portland players, which combined have an equivalent amount of money under the cap. Therefore Larry Harris, as he has said, took the best deal on the table as people have become aware that Magloire is slow, does little help defense, and has butter fingers. Also, it has also come out in the press that Portland first offered Dixon instead of Blake but they wouldn't make that deal. Blake was the key due to his efficiency and top notch assist-to-turnover ratio, not to mention his decent defence.

though blake is fairly good, the bucks should have tried to get both blake and dixon rather than skinner and ha, then the streak would have continued

Oden will stay no more than 3 years, mark my words on that

This thread is about the Milwaukee Bucks, not Oden.

After this last trade the Bucks might have to start looking at Oden as a potential draft choice.
Thu Aug 03, 2006 2:07 am
I want Steve Blake back now, please.

I thought you'd be happy with Bogut there and all. More playing time.
Bogut + Gadzuric > Bogut + Magloire.

From that point of view I am, but talent wise it was a terrible trade. For some reason I actually care about the Bucks winning/losing now

if you get to watch any games, you should be pleasantly surprised by blake.
Thu Aug 03, 2006 3:14 am
I hope so. With this move im guessing Mo Williams will play more SG then PG.

u should have seen his maryland days, a more true point guard than tj ford who was regarded as the best pg in cbk during those days
I want Steve Blake back now, please.
yeah, i want him back in black red and white, the maryland colors, not portland silly

Good bye Jiri Welsh, I hope They will at least sign Toni Kukoc

They won't. Larry Harris has said all summer that Toni, Jiri, Jermaine Jackson, Ervin Johnson and Reece Gaines won't be coming back. Someone will sign Toni, but not the Bucks. They are looking to the future and that means Ilyasova, Noel and Markota will get spot minutes at the 3, with CV and Redd filling that role behind Bobby a bit too.
Tue Aug 08, 2006 8:04 pm
the 3 spot is a bit weak for them...
