Bargnani is very talented, first of all

It's rare to hear things like this to the Raptors, it's usually the other way around. They tell the Raptors to fuck off. Good news i guess, but i don't know how he'll fit in to the team with Bosh and CV playing the same position, but again, we had the same discussion we Raps drafted CV.

1. Win Draft Lottery

barring that occurrence:

1. Draft Andrea Bargnani (based on new info just provided). If not available, pick Marcus Williams.

2. Depending on their 1st Round pick, pick either a backup PG, backup bigman or a token Canadian player.

3. Sign-and-trade Mike James.

4. Find a big guy to help poor young Chris Bosh inside.

YES!! I THINK WE HAVE MORRISON BECAUSE COLANGELO SAW HIM PLAY EARLIER THE SEASON AND SAID HE SCORED LIKE 47POINTS......WE BETTER GET HIM OR ALDRIDGE

both players have flaws but if you think that aldridge can bulk up a bit in the next couple seasons then he is the clear choice for me.

I don't think Aldridge will ever be a legit center, so going with that...
1. Draft Adam Morrison
2. Draft Andrea Bargnani (his agent has made claims that he will refuse to play for anyone but the Raptors and will just go back to Europe, so either trade up with 2nd rounder and a player or a future 1st)
3. Draft Denham Brown (token Canadian)
4. Leave Mike James' stuff on the curb and bid him fuckin' adieu
5. Sign Sam Cassel to a 2 year/$15 million deal with incentives
6. Trade Charlie V and a conditional pick/and/or a second player (Eric Williams/Pape Sow) for Jamaal Magloire
7. Resign Chris Bosh to a 6-7 year deal worth $75-85 million

Won't happen, but its fun to dream.

I forgot he was in the draft. I'd love to get him, but I really can't see the Raps getting another SG/SF type player. We already have a good young player in Graham, and Mo Pete's still a solid player.

Feels like a new franchise...

and a new playoff birth (hopefully)

The Raps aren't going to awesome, there's no LeBron's in this draft.

Well considering there are only about 4 teams in the league that are 'awesome,' I expect the Raptors to be "slightly more competitive. And in the east, they don't even have to be .500 to make the playoffs.

Now I'll play the conspiracy theorist and wonder why it took an expansion team 11 years to get a #1 pick. Now it was curious in 2003, when the Raptors had the 3rd best chance of getting the first pick, and we figured the worst we would do is to get Carmelo, which still wouldn't have been too bad. Then, conveniently, the hometown phenom went to Cleveland, then, a possible emerging dynasty was given another piece to keep them strong for years to come (didn't happen, but it could have), and the second worst team got the runner up prize with Carmelo. The two US teams were rejuvenated with budding superstars who saved their franchise, while the Raptors were left on the outside looking in, with many poosible #4 picks, none of which challenged the top 3.

Now we find ourselves in a draft with no clear #1, and absolutely no hype over any one player. Anyone in this draft would have gone #8 or later in 2003. Now that there is no one player that can turn around a franchise, the Raptors get their shot at #1. Tyrus Thomas or Aldrisdge don't do any good. Morrison is a nice player, but he's not going to make the Raps a playoff team in '07. Rudy Gay might fit well wwith Charlie V, but he's not a point guard and could drop to 6 or 7. The top pgs aren't #1 material, and trading down doesn't help much, as those guys are no guarentee, and considering the top 5, no one is going to give up much to move up. Certainly not a Tyson Chandler for Elton Brand situation.

So pretty much Colangelo is going to look bad whatever he does. We'll either end up with someone good but not great, and still not be a true contender, or the pick turns out great, and skips town first chance he gets. Oh well, at least I got hockey.
