Curry is one of the few true post players so of course he's going to get many high % scoring opportunities. and he just doesn't dunk all the time. you know, andrew, he likes to get good position to set up that little baby hook up of his. plus he's gotten 'smarter' by taking less jump shots

Andrew wrote:I think it's a fair enough call to say it was a bad move. The team is doing no better, Curry hasn't shown much improvement (if any, aside from slight statistical raises in a couple of areas) and could very well never be the player the Knicks want him to be, plus the team has given up the best chance it would've had this offseason to improve their team (a pick that is basically guaranteed top five at this juncture).
Who knows, two, three years down the road things could be very different as a result of the Curry deal and it could be hailed as the greatest move in Knicks history. But for now all we can judge the deal upon is what it's done for the Knicks so far and the position it's placed them in for the immediate future. Curry isn't inept so it's not a terrible deal but it's definitely not a good one for the Knicks.
Now, you can't blame all the Knicks' woes on Curry, no question that's unfair. But again, the knock on the deal is that it didn't make the Knicks any better and cost them a really important commodity, that being the first round pick. A commodity that's made even more important and valuable by the fact the Knicks are one of the worst teams in the league ensuring that pick is going to be high. One saving grace (as the article mentions) is that there's no LeBron or Shaq or other immediate impact player perceived to be a franchise saving individual. But it's still a blown opportunity at improving the team and starting some sort of youth movement and New York has little to show for it.

Matthew wrote:But people are making out that Magic, Jordan, Shaq and Duncan are all in this draft. There are no real superstars in this draft other than Morrison, who reminds me of Wally Szcerbiak more than Larry Bird.
Just to prove the draft is no sure thing, look at some of the players who have been taken in the top 3 in the past few drafts: Darko, Marvin Williams, Jay Williams, Mike Dunleavy, Andrew Bogut, Kwame Brown and Tyson Chandler. None of those guys have been close to being an all star, and most have struggled to even hold down a solid starting position. Now I know there are some extenuating circumstances (This is Bogut and Williams first season, and Jay Williams did have the motorbike accident), but just becuase you have a high pick doesnt mean a thing most of the time. The Bulls will be able to tell you that personally when you look at some of their draftings; Jay Williams, Marcus Fizer, Chandler, Curry and Crawford.
other then the one-eyed Dicky V, what people are saying their are a bunch of superstar/franchise players in the upcoming draft?
i agree that the draft is somewhat of a crapshoot but let's not exaggerate it. Some haven't lived up to expectations. But at the same time there are some that have turned out as solid players, some even "superstars"(just going off the drafts you referred to and i'm adding the 4th pick since the team who finished with the worst record can draft no worse then 4th): Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Emeka Okafor, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Yao Ming, Pau Gasol
