Vancouver Trail Blazers?!?

Vancouver would be the last place I'd put an NBA team... why are they going back over old ground, it's irritating. I mean there was a reason the Grizzlies left Vancouver to begin with. Like Axel said, there's other markets for them to use. They'd have to make more sense then Vancouver.

really, our attendance figures weren't that bad. and like i said, our fanbase is growing -- people actually talk about basketball now, and when you hit up pubs or bars, they actually show raptors or phoenix games and people are definitely into it.

You can't really compare them to Atlanta and say "they weren't that bad", because Atlanta's are god awful.. not mentioning the fact that they suck. Plus as those statistics show, the attendance averages for Vancouver were actually dropping quite drastically... while Atlanta's are slowly getting higher.

just illustrating that if atlanta's god forsaken franchise can be kept in atlanta even with their atrocious attendance, vancouver should get that chance too. i mean, i know it's not the most logical choice, but i know i'd be happy and pretty much that's all that matters.

If they did move the team to Vanouver, do you think they would change the name? To me atleast, Vancouver Trail Blazers, or even Vancouver Blazers, it doesn't really fit... I don't know... that's just me though...

i don't really see how anyone could expect any city not named new york to mantain a good attendance average after sucking for so many years in a row. You can't blame them for not having as much enthusiasm for a team that has never gone anywhere, and apparently wasn't going anywhere. Add the fact that the team had no history to at least feed the fan base and you get what you got. Even an expansion team should've shown even a glimmer of playoff hope at one point during the grizzlies tenure. toronto did. I mean when the raps were showcasing vince and tmac, what who were the grizz showing off? big country?

the only reason vancouver shoudln't get a basketball city compared to the other cities in the running is because of the canadian economy. i think the fan base would be enormous if the team showed any type of success.

The fanbase isn't just about numbers, it's also about that nation's interest in that particular sport. Canada seems too preoccupied with hockey to care about a basketball team that would fully struggle for at least the first 3 seasons.

i don't think the city blew it, i think the team blew it. like i said no market is going to support a team for that long that doesn't even have potential to win. our most exciting player was what? shareef and his bitch swipes at the refs? felipe lopez? mike bibby is a good player, but not exactly a crowd drawer by himself on a losing team. why do you think memphis traded bibby for jason williams straight up the first thing they moved? everyone knew then and now that bibby is a better player, but jason at the time was far more of a crowd drawer.

There's no guarantee anything would be different second time around. I mean Portland's not going to keep this unit together forever and there's no guarantees all of the players will want to move to Canada... I never did understand why certain players didn't want to live/play in Canada, but alas they do. I mean Telfair for instance, can you picture him playing for a Canadian team?

nah i dont think the team will go to vancouver im almost certain the next team will go to las vegas when theyve ironed out the complications.

I would LIKE to see this happen, but realistically it isnt. One point has already been brought up, is that there is too much history in Potland already. Secondly, i doubt that any of the current players on the roster would actually want to play in Vancouver. What good would it be if it did move back to Vancouver, only to have players on the team not want to play?
