Im so happy because I love peja and Artest. Couple of my favorite players. I just didnt want to see Artest going to the Kings. I cant imagine like Brad Miller and Mike Bibby with ARtest.
P.S I have a Peja jersey!!

Both teams approved and then submitted it to league offices. While it was in the approval process Artest sent word to both teams and the Maloofs called off the trade in the final second cuz he said he refuses to go to Sacramento. Check ESPN and you will see the reports.
Its so sad but it might be a good thing for the Pacers since I feel getting only Peja wasnt really worth it.

good if the trade doesn´t happen, the pacers should get more out of a trade!

Is that Ron Artest on the pacers or Terrell Owens? Geez!
It seemed like a perfectly good trade to me , I don't know why Artest would be so upset about it.

wow... ronny
Wed Jan 25, 2006 10:19 am
So...he still wants out of Indiana but won't make it easy...right...
I can understand the Kings backing out of the deal since players refusing to report is hardly unheard of, but it's a shame all the same. The way Artest has behaved he hasn't really earned a choice of where he should end up. I know that comes across as somewhat of a double standard as we all have a choice as to where we want to work, but the nature of his profession does require a few double standards. After all, in how many occupations could you publically denounce your employer and then easily get another job and a payrise?

pacers should activate him, put him in the starting line up, play him 10 seconds, let Danny Granger go in. They should do this every game, and if he refuses, fine him, suspend him. This way they get their money back, and let the fans show how they feel.

i believe he didn't want to go to sacrmento in the first place cause he stated if he goes to the west coast, he will sign with the knicks when his contract is up ( and the instant rumor was peja for ron initially)
maybe they should go for rashard lewis?

Seattle talks stopped once Seattle mandated that they won't give up anyone at Nick Collison's level or better for Artest, so that went nowhere fast.
The kicker is that this latest fiasco only dropped Artest's trade value even worse, into the cellar. Because now GM's are thinking that even if they get Artest, Ronnie will just sit out until his 2 years are up and collect his paycheck and move to NY.
THey might want to just trade him for draft picks at this point.

I think he just wants to play with a contending team. Sacramento dont really look like they are going anywhere fast at this point. It still is a sad case though.

He probably cares so so much about the pacers that he didn't let them get peja for him

I have quoted this from the pacers official website
Walsh: "We Do Not Have A Deal"
By Conrad Brunner | Jan. 24, 2006 Putting an end to a swirl of conflicting reports about a trade between the Pacers and Sacramento Kings, franchise CEO/President Donnie Walsh issued a definitive statement Tuesday evening.
“As I have said before, until there is a deal completed, we do not have a deal. We do not have a deal and will not comment on any premature reports regarding a trade involving Ron Artest.”
ESPN reported Tuesday afternoon the Pacers and Kings had agreed to trade Artest for Peja Stojakovic. The network later reported the deal was off because Artest let the Kings know he did not want to play in Sacramento.

Why are you people saying OMG FINALLY, Artest said no.
Wed Jan 25, 2006 10:58 am
Artest refuses to go to Sacramento? Wtf... the Kings would be a playoff team with him on their roster!
PG - Bibby
SG - Bonzi Wells
SF - Artest
PF - Abdur-Rahim
C - Brad Miller
... too bad, would have been a fun team to watch. This trade that is never going to happen is really getting old.

Man I wish peja would just get his head out of his ass, and resign long term with the kings.
I'm biased... I'm prob Peja's biggest fan... I have a signed jersey of him in storage some where...
Kings should just resign that nigga... or trade him, and have Peja come back and sign again....
Free player.

Artest is a pain in the ass.

Funny Peja didnt play tonight (unless he was injured).
Also I read somewhere that Peja was saying he would take less money to stay with Kings for rest of career.

Nope. Never said I was.
First Artest demands a trade, and wants out of IND. When the trade was about to happen, he said he didn't want to.
