I like Ray Allen's shooting form though, its beautiful.

It's actually an odd form. The ball doesn't really spin backwards, either.

To take New York's stupidity and try to make that the norm would be quite devastating...

I agree (y)

That's is just a random comment. Although the maximum contract was too much for Houston, he was an All-Star and a really good player/shooter. Nobody could've predicted that he would get injured and be useless.

same goes for ray allen.. all star and 10times better than houston was

It would be confusing if the sonics drafted him

Apart from a couple of instances I don't think Ray Allen is really a whiner, at least not publically. I remember he did complain about some of the attention Michael Jordan was getting in 2002, pointing out that there were other things going on in the league that were worth talking about, including the Milwaukee Bucks. Unfortunately for Allen the Bucks fell from first in the Central to the lottery in the space of a month, not too long after those comments.

Well, paying Allan Houston that much money isn't really a smart move now is it?

Houston was one of the Top 10 guards in the league, ok the max was a bit stupid but hes capable of scoring 25 points per game and was/is one of the best shooters in the league.

and ray allen fits all those categories except higher. The only concern might be injury with ray since he has had a history of it.

And Houston has a history of being an overpaid shit.

Houston has proved himself to be a fine offensive player, a great shooter who is capable of being a 20 ppg player and shooting the lights out on any given occasion. But the problem is he doesn't contribute much else, which doesn't really justify such a huge contract.

I'd much rather have a solid guy that scores 10 ppg and plays good defense, rebounds well, good passer, etc. then have Houston give me 50 ppg and nothing else.

i don't think allen is underrated either. this guy has been on a bunch of all star teams, was a gold medal winner, had some monster playoff games when he was on the bucks (never will forget his dunk on eddie robinson).

but last year, he missed a lot of game because of an injury. this year he just miseed making the all star team. up until this year, seattle hasn't been that great. so in way, he was somewhat forgotten

but now that seattle is one of the top teams in the conference, the spotlight is shifting back on him and his team.

maybe allen can be viewed as a whiner because of this contract thing but more importantly he hasn't let it affect his play or become a distarction to his team... unlike sprewell, cassell, etc
