so let's hear it. what is the worst nba season?

I mean, you could perhaps pick a season in the 70s, before the league got cleaned up, and some of the best players in the era were over in the ABA. As far as the seasons I've been around for, I would probably say the lockout season of 1999. First of all, you had the lockout and the loss of games putting a damper on things. When the season finally did get underway, everything was haphazard because of the start in February, more than a few players were out of shape and not ready to play, and there was some really ugly basketball.
While the 2012 season was also a bit of a mess, I think the players did a better job staying prepared for an agreement to be reached, and keeping in shape for when the season finally began. They were also able to resolve the situation earlier, and the postseason didn't turn out too badly, all things considered. I'd say the 1999 lockout was much worse, and it'd be my pick for the worst NBA season.

99 was a terrible season for me too. It was 1yr of the Krause project and ironically enough I was cheering for the Knicks and Latrell Sprewell. There were other seasons I didn't like due to the outcomes but that's another story. I do agree with you on 99. How about them fat kemp jokes....

I'd say it's the season that most people who experienced it would objectively call the worst, because of all the damage and fallout of the lockout. We all definitely have our own least favourite seasons, based on outcomes and other criteria.

Cavs become the first team to hit 20+ threes in consecutive games, and it's given them a 3-0 series lead. A 55-28 advantage on the boards in Game 3, too.

Who turned on 3 point sliders to 100?

these playoffs have been horrible so far but yeah its not nearly the worst season ever. unless you enjoy watching a ton of blowouts these playoffs are no way near the best ever

Yep. Bunch of injuries, predictable outcome/progress, lackluster star powers and teams, all ended up to be big disappointment imo.

I could have said the same thing last year.

Meanwhile, LeBron did indeed sweep the Hawks again, with a little help from his friends.

I still like my prediction of Hawks in SIX. It was dope.

Swept da basterds

man i want to see the hawks land a superstar finally and see how it works out for them
at least this game was not a complete route. honestly though the cavs are too good for anyone else in the east. the only questions is will they plays the warriors or the spurs

I wouldn't be surprised if they start re-tooling. Horford might be on his way out this offseason. At least, the rumour mill is making it sound like a distinct possibility.

Very well done.
I was rooting for the Hawks and thought they would at least get one game.
Cavs no doubt will be in he finals again.

Yeah I think we may see a sign and trade for Horford along with Jeff Teague sent packing too and hey if the knicks can get in on Teague that would be great.

i would too. cards are stacked against them though being a small market team.. similar to the Grizz. and like them, they had a good run compiling good regular seasons and advancing to the 2nd round.
the losers in the KD, batum, barnes sweepstakes will be throwing a lot of money at bazemore.

Atlanta's the 9th largest MSA in the NBA. Just a hair behind Miami, Philly and D.C.

Being a leading city in the nba doesn't help attract winning basketball though sadly just a bumped up salary and a team that players will use to help drive up there price in free agency.

2nd time now in the past week my 2nd hand news reporting has been incorrect. glad someone out there is paying attention
does ATL spend money like a big market team?
Wed May 11, 2016 1:17 pm
Considering the contracts they gave Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, and even Devin Harris, the answer is yes.
Thu May 12, 2016 11:47 pm
The Johnson contract broke the bank and I was surprised they were able to sign milsap few years back but the ATL ranked in the bottom third in total team salary this year
