The only move I used to pull in my younger days was pump fake, drive passed the defender but with not being the quickest I always knew he would be on my back so if I could feel him there I'd jump back slightly into a jumpshot resulting in him running into me for the foul.

That used to work till the defender tripped once as I went up he tried to grab hold of me to stop himself falling but I ended up going down hard backwards on my shoulder.

I stuck to shooting 3's after that lol

Lol. I guess we all had that go to move to draw a foul against a defender. That is unless... your name is Sauru and Q. Reggie Miller made it his signature move and it existed from way before.

Bigger issues imo is favorable superstar calls, and shady officiating that has no consequence/overseeing. They are more derogatory to the fun. Joey Crawford getting away T-ing up laughing benched Timmy, Wade shooting gazillian freethrows in the finals, Kobe suddenly doubling FT attempts per game career average at age of 50 as playoffs chance dwindles while Jazz suddenly gets no calls whatsoever to fall outta PO berth contention, etc. I also hate how lottery's done behind the closed door. Fuck that, transparency is always better.

I like that the league has started to crack down on that. There's always going to be gamesmanship and a little bit of acting to emphasise contact, but it's cheap when the offensive player is the one creating the contact with a rather obviously unnatural motion. In that respect, I agree with Jeff Van Gundy; I'd like to see more no-calls when players jump sideways into defenders to draw fouls on jumpshots.

Agreed!

The landing rule was also known as the Bruce Bowen rule after several players twisted ankles landing on Bowen and before that it really put off shooters when they knew he was close.
