hughes kinda good player, but he worth much less money, that he is paid! and i didn't ever understand gordon's trade rumors - best Bulls player?! chicago has too many guards and doesn't have solid center! they need a big trade, perhaps, involving 3 teams, with miami!

Trades are easier said than done; the other teams would actually have to want the players the Bulls are open to trading, I don't think they're getting a noteworthy big man for any of the players they'd be offering. Noah and Gray are an unspectacular duo at centre but if Noah continues to develop then in the long run it's not so bad. Having a player like Rose who can get to the rim and finish and find teammates off penetrations compensates a little for the lack of a 20 ppg scorer down low.

Gordon can't be traded this year owing to the fact he's signed to a qualifying offer, plus as much as I liked him I don't think anyone's going to give up a quality big for him.

Anyway, nice win over the Warriors though it wasn't Gordon's best game. Hughes actually played well starting in place of Deng who's injured but I hope he doesn't get used to it. When everyone's healthy, Hughes shouldn't be high in the pecking order and as I said before there's no way he should dictate his role with the team; he's still the odd man out as far as I'm concerned, he's a short term solution at best.

after watching this debacle known as the bulls, i've come to realize a few things

if not for the lottery balls bouncing the bulls way, they would be a disaster
they still stink even with rose
Rose seems to be a franchise-worthy player and Pax needs to figure out who he should surround him with. my guess is Gordon is worth keeping (as a 6th man)around but that probably won't happen since he's playing for the big contract
Deng may not even be a "3rd best player on the team" type...unless he's teamed with duncan and parker
Noah is a fricking bum- i can't stand this guy. Josh Howard may smoke weed but he isn't gassed after 2 minutes on the floor

as long as someone remains injured from their glut of guards- whether it be hinrich or hughes, i can still hold out hope that Thabo will have a chance to turn it around. i think if thomas & deng (strangely enough deng can't seem to thrive off a legit PG) weren't so bad, you could start Thabo. maybe this west coast trip can light a fire under his ass

btw i think i did read somewhere that Gordon could be traded but there are some hurdles, including Gordon having to agree with the trade. someone should double check that

no quailty big is being traded for anytime soon if you ask me. the closest thing to that was harrington lol. at least the contract wasn't so bad. maybe someone like randolph could be available but so is his crappy contract.

Hughes was quite nice. 15 points on (for him) above average shooting and the game winner (which is also a bit of luck, sure). I like Hughes, his style of moving, how he looks and acts. It makes me sad to see him shooting so bad for now about 4 consecutive years. He was a great fit with the Wizs back in the days.

Chicago's backcourt is way too crowded just like the knicks. Personally, I'd like to see them keeping Rose and Gordon, but I guess Gordon will leave Chicago anyways if not soon.

What's with Deng anyways. He hasn't developed much after signing the big contract. No wonder Chicago isn't doing better even with Rose. It's not entirely his fault but I'm sure the Bulls expected more productions from him.

Rose and Gordon are the players I'd keep. It's funny how everyone was writing Gordon off as a scrub and claiming Deng was the player to keep, with Gordon having a pretty good season so far and Deng being such a disappointment. I won't say "I told you so" because it's still early days and frankly I was really hoping I'd be wrong about Deng but it's looking to be just as a feared. Deng has the tools to be a really good player but it doesn't seem like he's got a true first option mentality. On a team that struggles to score, you need people who will step up and put up shots. Rose and Gordon seem like the players to do that, it's a small backcourt but Rose does a good job of getting to the basket which compensates a little for the lack of a post scorer.

Deng it, the bulls lose again. I seriously think the bulls could use another solid big man other than Gooden. Noah is a joke btw.

Deng was awesome when the bulls beat the heats in playoffs a couple years ago. I guess that played a factor. Now I can see where your frustration comes from.

It certainly did and I do like Deng myself, I don't mean to say he's a scrub. But I've never been convinced that he's a superstar in the making and destined to be a team leader (at least anymore than Gordon). I don't think he's got the consistent aggressiveness, that slightly selfish streak that allows the best of the best to survey the situation and decide "Well, no one else is making things happen, I guess it's up to me to jumpstart things". That's not to advocate selfish play but when the team needs points, someone needs to step up and try and score them. Sometimes selflessness can be a bad trait and to be the number one option you need to have that swagger and take the shot when you've got a good look. Deng has a habit of passing them up, disrupting the offensive flow or leading to a turnover because the pass is unexpected.

So the Bulls end their road trip 3-4 for a record of 8-9 on the season. Far from impressive, but after the slow starts the last few years and last year's disappointment finishing the first month hovering close to the .500 mark is where they needed to be at least if they wanted to avoid digging themselves a huge hole like they did last season. Three of their next five are at home with a healthy amount of sub .500 opponents. Could be an opportunity to get a few games above .500 to try and close out 2008 with a winning record.

Derrick Rose is unbelievable. He's been crazy and he's in like the top 20 MVP rankings and has led the Bulls. Plus, he dropped Miller on his butt !

Bulls are doing quite well, led by BG and Shycago.

Absolutely, despite all the concerns that he wasn't the right choice he's certainly playing like a #1 pick should. If the next major moves the Bulls make are good ones, then getting Rose just might have saved Paxson's job as well as giving us fans some hope for the future.

Well, they'd need someone with experience, yet atleast 5 more years left, someone who'd play like Garnett, Brand or someone. A 20-10 guy, like D-Will and CP have in Boozer and West. What about Okafor ? He'd also get together with BG again.

You'd probably have to trade BG to get to Okafor. But i'm with you, I've wanted Okafor on the team for a while.

Valor... In this case Gordon is the trade bait for Okafor... So the trio would be Rose, Deng and Okafor

I don´t think Okafor would be the best fit. He would help on D but I don´t think he would be effective in pick ´n´ roll and would make it harder for Rose to drive. A better fit would be Nowe or Okur.
If you want to trade Gordon doesn´t he have to accept it? I doubt he would like to go to the Bobcats.

I agree. Bulls dont need Okafor. If any, they should go for a big star. As how i see it, the bulls management needs to get some balls for once and go for a big name.

Deng it, another loss this time in OT. should have been fun match up to watch, Andre miller vs d Rose

Is deng playing hurt or something? He's not showing up at all. Big fat contract made him fat and lazy or what.

Easier said than done with the players they have to trade and the availability of such players.

I am currently watching the bulls - sixers game, finished the first half. My goodness Rose looks sweeeet!!! First time i see a game of him (don't get many over here, and limits on internet so...) But damn that kid! THe block on Miller, the crossing him to the floor right after that. He is looking like a veteran, and not of the least...

So Valor; getting Okafor without losing Deng or Rose, well just no way they should trade Rose away for ANYBODY, as for Deng, I don't think chi should fear losing him when they're getting something, a package with perhaps Hinrich should get them a solid post player in return, though with this going for a post presence, and losing Deng, SF could become a problem. I feel Noah should get more minutes from Gray, his FG% will go up give him some time (better reb, blocking). Hmm, Hughes contract is up in two years (hail hail 2003).

A couple of disappointing losses in the last two games. Apparently Hughes is complaining about being relegated to the bench again. It's a shame his contract runs another couple of years, if it was expiring at the end of the year they could just cut him loose or possibly work out a trade. He's not without talent but his attitude leaves a lot to be desired.
