Comic Sans is suitable because it represents how the whole incident was a mockery of justice.
Or it's funny because a man died.

Wasn't sure if Young's shot is clutch or just luck. Still a great game tho
Sat Dec 13, 2014 4:10 pm
I somehow doubt it was drawn up that way, but the Lakers will gladly take it.
Sat Dec 13, 2014 4:14 pm
Damn that Young shot. I can now imagine what's going to happen in the locker room.
Young: Hey Kobe, told you son! NOBODY CAN ******** GUARD ME! YOU EVEN F****** MISSED YOUR 2 "CLUTCH" shots in OVERTIME!
Also, ESPN people sucking Kobe's ****** right now since he's about to pass MJ.
Sat Dec 13, 2014 5:47 pm
That's how ESPN rolls, man.
Kobe will definitely be one of the all time greats though. No disputing that.
Sat Dec 13, 2014 5:54 pm
And all time all-overrated.
I doubt Young was talking smack to Kobe.
He is expendable.

Leonard 1 assist shy of a 5x5. Have seen a couple other close ones throughout the season.
Mon Dec 15, 2014 4:29 pm
He's after max-max contract!
Notice he puts up Batum-on-Steroid like numbers. And that 5 stl and 6 blk were amazing numbers tonight.
Mon Dec 15, 2014 9:36 pm
Couple other close ones that I were thinking of were Anthony Davis (25/10/4/6/4) and John Wall (16/6/8/5/3).
Mon Dec 15, 2014 11:20 pm
Kyle Korver is currently averaging 52 FG%, 549 3PT%, 959 FT%.
Ridiculous

Is there a 50-50-90 club? He may be the founder if there's none.

Scott Hastings, G.O.A.T.

It's back to Earth for the Lakers after that big win over the Spurs and Kobe's big milestone. Blowout loss to the Pacers, Kobe with 21 points on 8/26 shooting.
Meanwhile, Jabari Parker left the Bucks/Suns game with a knee sprain. Hopefully, it's not too serious.

I wonder, do the Lakers really want to walk this path and lose the first round pick only to help out other team? Rebuilding has to start sooner the better. Losing first round pick will push back the plan further back.
The Lakers will have to think twice next time they want to win 3 straight. Right now there are 6 teams with worse record and 2 teams with same number of wins as the Lakers. You probably want to finish the season with bottom 3 record to be safe. Don't expect this to be a fun season for the Lakers.

The Lakers have a terrible conflict of interest. The players (Kobe, Swag Daddy, Booz Cruise) seem more interested in winning games than the owners do. It's a strange situation in La La land.
I think that the Lakers would be wise to draft a sure thing instead of a prospect with high potential. If they REALLY want Kobe to be able to even have a shot at winning a championship, they would be wise to draft a Harrison twin, or a Justise Winslow. They need to start gathering reinforcements if they even pray to have a shot at a Playoff spot,

I don't think the Lakers can truly start to rebuild until Kobe hangs it up, because he seems to feel he should be the alpha dog until the day he walks out the door. Fair enough, but it leaves the Lakers with a weak pitch to top tier free agents: "Come to Los Angeles and play second fiddle to the guy at the end of his career, who's gunning his way up the all-time scoring charts at a sub-40% clip". If Kobe's not willing to take the Tim Duncan approach, then it's basically an extended farewell tour for him, and a rough ride to bottoming out for the Lakers.

What do you guys think? The real issue is whether the Lakers can get top 5 pick or pick is gone to other team. At this pace, they're more than likely to lose the pick and looking at possibly even worse season next year.
The problem is TV rating and jacked up ticket price. Are the Lakers management willing to go distance and sit key players so they can tank better or keep money rolling in for the short term benefits?
I have a feeling Kobe's not going to sit because he simply doesn't win you too many game now days(rather hurts the team) so instead coach probably will tinker and constantly mess up the rotation in order to tank. Or ofc there may come time when Kobe decides to hang it up and sit rest of season out with mysterious back injury. 3rd possibility imo is Kobe playing his ass off till very end and retire after this season, least likely.
One way or the other the Lakers will probably get their top 5 pick imo. Maybe the league simply will give it to them even if they finish far outside bottom 5.

1. Should have used totals and sorted it by minutes so people could see how few the others played.
2. Kerr's doesn't count because it was during the shorter three point line.
In other words, you continue to be the worst person in the world, the entire world, yes you, worse than everyone else.
Korver has shot 54% from three before, 2009-10.
NovU wrote:The problem is TV rating and jacked up ticket price.
TV ratings are irrelevant, the Lakers signed a 20 year, $3.6 BILLION deal three years ago. And the Lakers, like the Knicks, can always charge outsized ticket prices because of the people who go to the games just to be seen.
Though it'd be funny to see if the Clippers somehow became the dominant Staples team in that regard.

I believe Kobe will play out his contract, and go after the all-time scoring record, along with a sixth championship. I think the former is a much more feasible goal.

We think alike then. He obviously won't win another ring.
As for the scoring record...it's a bit to far out for him. Given his body the last few years and teh fact his percentages will continue to fall as the season progresses (so will his minutes) he'll be lucky to catch Malone.
Tue Dec 16, 2014 8:18 pm
I did read that Lakers brass were trying to get him to sign another extension beyond next season, which would have him playing three more years. Apparently he hasn't given them any such commitment or indication that he's interested in continuing to play beyond next year, but you never know.
