Re: Dwight Howard's Clusterfuck Lands In Houston?

Sat Jul 06, 2013 11:25 am

Seems like a good situation for him. He still gets a big contract, he's got Harden there to share the load, a team that should be good but is still probably at least a year or two away from being a really serious title contender and one of the best post players in history as his coach. From the Rockets point of view, while there are still concerns when it comes to Howard, they're still getting a pretty good player.

WAIT:
UPDATE: A source has told ESPN that Dwight Howard has "changed his mind." Howard has told Lakers he's now 50-50.

Lakers caught by surprise that Dwight Howard's planning to see Mitch Kupchak once he lands in L.A. Said source: "That's news to Mitch."

Dwight Howard has not set up a meeting yet with Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak, nor anyone else with LAL according to a team source

@WojYahooNBA 34s

Los Angeles issued a statement saying that Howard informed Kupchak of his decision "to not return to the Lakers."

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA now
Dwight Howard's plan was always to meet with the Lakers a final time and tell MItch Kupchak of his decision.

It's Houston. Source close to Dwight Howard confirms that he'll join the Rockets. He'll inform the Lakers and make an official announcement.

We have been informed of Dwight's decision to not return to the Lakers. Naturally we're disappointed. However, we will now move forward in a different direction with the future of the franchise and, as always, will do our best to build the best team possible, one our great lakers fans will be proud to support. To Dwight, we thank him for his time and consideration, and for his efforts with us last season. We wish him the best of luck on the remainder of his NBA career."

It's funny how Dwight kept his low profiling and hasn't said much during the course of this offseason but he's still getting all burnt with these shit bombs by those so called 'insiders' and eventually by fans.

Anyways Grats to the Rockets.

so after doing this to two teams, we are almost on the 6th page of this topic. the Lebron topic had 7 pages. how is this guy not widely hated like Lebron is? at least Lebron took his time and was decisive about it. didn't waver, was 100% sure. dwight annoys the hell out of me. remember the lovable center of the orlando magic that won that slam dunk contest? i don't either.

I hate him if that counts. And no, not because he left. I didn't like him for a long time now.

This is how I'll remember Howard...

Being a slam dunk champion does qualify you as a winner. Got Kobe there.

Let the new era begiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn in Houston! Big winner in this year's offseason. I can't see them failing with such talent. But who knows, it didn't work out too well in LA.

It only annoyed the hell out of you because you followed it on the internet or on TV or whatever. Dwight didn't say jack shit. He has all the right in the world to be indecisive to the very last minute. Just because we have all these sources telling us what's happening Dwight looks like the asshole. If he'd gone to twitter and change his mind five times it'd have been a different story but he didn't.

Dwight was a dick when he was with the Magic and demanded that trade. But this free agency he handled fine. The Media was the problem.

ya speak tha truth
Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 19m
Dwight Howard took his meetings, left for two-plus days to think, made a decision, flew to LA, told Lakers face-to-face and called Houston.

Howard hasn't handled past 2 years well - extremely poorly, in many instances -- but he did handle the end of this free agency process fine.

Let me clarify there: Howard flew back to Los Angeles, but he simply informed the Lakers of his decision. There was no sit-down.

Just had to unfollow a EA Dev over amounts of butthurt LA fandom. Watching him flail up and down during the "multiple sources" shit today was hilarious, but the amount of "Kobe will get him" and shit is too much. If Dwight stayed in LA, man, ass kissing galore probably.

Agreed, Jao. Kobe basically told him "Stay and you will be my bitch for years to come". I don't think the Lakers gave it all anyways. Poor handling if they really wanted him back. Should have kept him in check from way before but they failed it like with Shaq, and Bynum. None of them left happy and it's hard to say any of those bigs had huge love call from LA(media, fans, management) anyways. Their Kobe is too precious.

Shaq has stated LA was his favorite place to play, putting him & Dwight Howard in the same boat is a no-no.

That's what they've said about the Lakers after signing Howard...

Kobe/Howard(back injury) <<< Harden/Howard(healthier)

Harden alone was better than any Lakers last season. No way in hell this team will be as bad as Lakers last season.
