This.

I was worried after he gave up on his original dunks in the first round that he wouldn't make it.

He said props were lame after Ibaka's toy dunk, then brings out a freaking car and choir for Blake's last dunk.

well if you're going to do it, do it big I guess

McGee should have done it the other way around. The second round dunks on the first, and the two- and three-basketball dunks in the second round. It would have been a little more even in the fan vote, IMO. But Blake won it as the car appeared on the court.

no, the way it happened was the way to do it, if he did those dunks in the first round he wouldn't have gotten into the 2nd round

seems like everyone in the contest understood that with the fan voting the 2nd round is meaningless, so go all out right off the bat

Yeah, but then he was out of creativity (N)

Despite that, this was one of the best dunk contests I've ever seen.

Holy fuck...a guy that was completely uninterested in sporting events of any kind enjoyed this years dunk contest with me.

I'm completely underwhelmed by Derozan. I just dont see it. They dont look that good and his shit is stuff i've seen done and done better.

Ibaka Mcgee and Blake were all fuckin phenomenal though.

When Dwight did the 12 ft rim dunk a couple years ago i remember going "OH SHIT HE'S GONNA DUNK TWO AT ONCE." then was promptly disappointed. Glad to see Mcgee come out tonight with it and be everything i had hoped.

I really liked both of Ibaka's dunks. Im not saying they should've been 50s but they were both nice and probably shoudl have had better scores than derozans.

Blake's 1st dunk deserved a 50. That power and athleticism. I almost had to clean myself up.

2nd round wasnt as awesome though and i would've been much more impressed wit the pass out of the sunroof from inside the car and blake jumping over the middle, but it was still fun. Mcgee knew no matter what blake was gonna win in the final with fan voting

The final thing im gonna note: Blake is going to fucking kill himself. The guy does everything all out all the time. The bruise on his arm was pretty nasty from the arm inside the rim dunk. When the car brought out, me and my friends were making bets on how brutal the clippers curse would go (we ended up with baron davis decapitated as blake didnt quite get enough height and blake landing on his back and being the new christopher reeve). Tasteless? Sure...but with the Clippers anything can happen. I dont wish it on anyone...but Blake seems to good to be true or long lived at this point. But i love every insane fucking second. I really haven't been this excited about basketball in years.

All in All, best dunk contest i've seen outside of a video game in a LONG, LONG time.

Great dunk contest today, Mcgee's double rim dunk is awesome despite numerous attempts. Blakes first attempt had me jumping out of my seat but I think he change it right? The car dunk is a bit scary because Blake can get hurt but he only dunks on the hood but still its a great dunk.

I really enjoyed the contest. All contestants would have won last year's one with the array of dunks they had. Here's my impression of the contest:

McGee had 3 outstanding dunks, the last one was a little lacklustre, but as people have mentioned, he had little-to-no hope of winning once it relied on the fan vote. Definitely needs to be in next year's contest and hopefully create a new rivalry with Blake.

Blake's first was pretty mad and I loved his elbow dunk. His second dunk would have been other worldly if his first choice came off but oh well. Last dunk was a wank but I still enjoyed it.

Ibaka was robbed on his first one. Second one got what it deserved. It was a great dunk, but it was never going to get a 50 (unless he was Nate Robinson).

Derozan's two dunks were nice but I think Ibaka definitely out-ranked him.

McGee should have won, but I'm not mad that Griffin did. (Edit) Oh, and Kenny Smith needs to GTFO

Still bummed that Griffin won, even though it doesn't matter. Epic Vale should have pulled out the segway for his final dunk.

I'm hoping that it'll see the fan voting system come under review. McGee was never going to win that, even though 3/4 of his dunks were fucken amazing.

Great dunk contest, was only annoyed with Kenny Smith, the crowd, and the over-the-car's-hood dunk by Blake. McGee's two-rim dunk was awesome and my favorite dunk in the contest.

That was a really nice contest!!
From last year's fiasco it was miles better and at last a contest we're going to watch again (Y)

Griffin's dunks weren't better than McGee's,but the presentation of the last car dunk was just huge!!All the choir, and the hype were miles better than the dunk itself, who was ehm, just good.
Loved McGee's two ball and three ball dunks, that guy is a total beast!
I believe DeRozan's dunks were really good, the first one deserved more than 44...
Ibaka's dunk were really nice,i just loved his creativity and his score was underrated for sure.Really liked the little toy one

Wow. Talk about overkill. I thought it was kind of over the top when they started naming the dunks and presenting it with a sign, but what followed was just an entertainment show as a whole. To the point where I fast-forwarded to the dunks. Just bad acting along with choirs and dozens of shoe changes.

DeRozan got robbed in my opinion. His first was a 50, maybe 48 for missing it a couple of times. The second one was a deserving 50.
Blake's first one, the very first he tried would have been on par with Carter's 360 reverse windmill, if he made it. But it ended up as a pretty ordinary two handed 360 which did not deserve 49. That's one thing to get a high score I guess, try something incredible and miss it, and do a much easier version to let the judges think it was the same dunk.
The car dunk was creative and had certainly many 2k gamers on their feet, but it wasn't that impressive to me. The elbow one I liked, but it just looked too easy for him.
I like JaVale's creativity. Ibaka's first was very nice but overall a forgettable performance for im.

blake don't deserve to win. he shouldn't be on the final round. f*ck the judges on that slam dunk contest. favoritism (N) (N)

listen, stop hating on blake because the contest was set up for him to win. all he had to do was get himself into the final and he would win a popularity contest vs any of the other 3. that being said, I wish he would've gone through with the 360 two handed windmill. that miss was arguably more exciting the the actual dunk he put down instead of it. but his elbow dunk was pretty monstrous. i think the next evolution of the elbow dunk will be 360 or through the legs elbow dunks. pretty much shit you saw in NBA Street Vol 2. and yes, the props were out of control this year.

both have already been done. search on youtube (Y)

I gotta say blake overdid it by jumping over a car. With his height and athleticism jumping over the hood of a car is not really that difficult. And what's up with Kenny Smith talking trash about props in the first round , the bringing a car and a fucking choir ?

And also, how the fuck did Mcgee's final dunk (360 windmill, first attempt) did not count? the ball went in.

If you ask me, I thought that Blake will win it, I was %100 sure because he started to be overrated, like LeBron James. Javale McGee could make 10000x better dunks than the car dunk and 360 dunk of Blake Griffin, but nope.

White man can't jump, that's the theory that Blake Griffin destroyed this year.

Very surprised that Ibaka only got 45 for a legit FT line dunk as a legit 7 footer. I think Blake Griffin deserved to win vote for final based on his 2 dunks. I however don't believe that Griffin should have even been in the final given that McGee & Ibaka were better than him. DeRozan had technically strong dunks but for some reason I wasn't that impressed.

Overall, the robbing of the award wasn't anywhere near as bad as Iggy losing to Nate Robinson.
