So close for Puerto Rico! Now the aim for Greece is the third place to have easier opponents or the second place with a win with Russia and fight every game then!

Lithuania is red hot. I think they will get the first place for sure. Bad thing for France. If we lose tomorrow we'll face them! We're a nightmare for them!

This thread has been really disappointing because of that. I expect better from our European posters. At least give me some nationalist rants.

Batum will have no chance beating Greece! He can't win on his own a better team! Only if you play 40 minutes zone marking like China and Puerto Rico and Turkey France has a chance of winning!

After a disappointing loss against turkey, we smashed cote d' ivoire 97-60! if we beat the russians today we finish second (and we play against spain in the knockout) if we don't we finish third (and we play against france )

You think Greece unbeatable? No. France can do it. And Greece can do it too.

About Turkey, we will play against New Zealand! Hooray!

Maybe, we can still jump out of 4th spot if we beat France.

Don't know what you're cheering for. New Zealand were the number 1 team to come out of Oceania after winning the qualifying series over Australia. That's why we ended up on the good side of the draw (likely matching up against Turkey rather than USA, I know who i'd rather face  )

If Kirk Penney & that Abercrombie & Fitch guy are both rolling, then we CAN beat Turkey. Never under-estimate the ANZAC spirit (& Pero's gut). That being said, I don't expect us to get past the Round of 16, but we are playing solidly so would be good to see the team rolling.

I hooray, because we will not play against Spain. (Spain is better than NZ).

We beat France to end up 3-2 & tied for 2nd with France & Spain. If it's on for & against, Lithuania wins group, followed by Spain, New Zealand & France. This would mean we would face Russia instead of Turkey (still a tough matchup either way, but better to play against less hostile crowd)

Wow... Puerto Rico surprisingly losed to Cote d'Ivoire... China lost 87-40 to Turkey (with bench players). China qualified.

We lost the match against Russia. We avoided the States so we have the best possible path to the medals. Spain now and time for revenge against them! A win with Spain and after that both Serbs and Turks are easier than states and the Spaniards!

Russia wanted to lose (concerning that Russia's coach played with a system not fond of,and with players who wouldn't play that much)as well but won and will face New Zealand, who smashed France
France wanted to lose by 11 points in order to face Russia and avoid Greece and Turkey. But Penney scored as hell and France was busted!

France as well wanted to lose last year but De Colo made an amazing buzzer by mistake against us and they faced Spain and were eliminated. So second straight year with bad luck for France!

Penney scored a 4-pointer at the game?
