<--- Is extremely pleased, and somewhat vindicated.
That's all I have time for right now, full draft review later (if I have the time

)

Thats one hell of a draft the Blazers got tonight.
Demetris is on the Knicks now because of someone whack trades, but he'll still have some time to prove himself on such a shitty team.
Sun Jul 01, 2007 8:38 am
What the hell!?
I just watched an interview with Demetris and his stutter is like 99% gone. The Knicks got a great player on their hands, I wish he was a Bull.

i bet they still don't make the playoffs even with these moves
Sun Jul 01, 2007 10:32 am
They may not be a playoff team next year but their record will increase greatly. And trust me they will be a playoff team and championship contender after a few years.
Sun Jul 01, 2007 10:46 am
i just think that the blazers are taking things on too fast Oden is not even used to the NBA yet and they are bringing in way too many new players they need to slow down and work with what they have
Sun Jul 01, 2007 11:02 am
Well it's really hared to work with what you have when you don't have anything but Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. They went out and started building their team from the ground up starting with this year, and they built for the future. So they can slow down now and work with what they have.
Sun Jul 01, 2007 11:30 am
yeah that's what i wus trying to say thanx for clarifying that!

In my mind the Blazers will make the playoffs because of the talent they have. Brandon Roy and Greg oden will flourish and the role players will succeed around them, preferrably James Jones, Lamarcus Aldridge, and Channing "French" Frye.
Does anybody know if they will retain Steve Francis? Because it works for them either way with him. They can retain him and he can return to all star status, OR he can be a very big piece of trade bait and can succeed on another team.

Steve Francis is probably going to have his contract bought out.

i c a lot of ppl expect blazers to make playoff now cuz of oden
but i can't see it happening at least not for next season
first off, in west, portland Blosers gonna have to fight for 6/7/8 spot wid lakers, clippers, warriors, nuggets, memphi; assuming utha, phx, hou, spurs, dallas r automatic playoff teams. it's a tough conference, i think if very lucky & at most, blazers will be fightin for 8th spot at the end of the season.
secondly, oden's a rookie & he ain't no duncan rookie like. duncan made an impact as soon as he came to the league, but oden's style of playin seems to need an adjustment to play in nba.
but i think x factor might be Stevie Franchise, a veteran. if he can play a lil like his old days, he does have a chance. yao & francis mix was ok, so i don't c y not oden & fancis mix wont work out. supportin casts r also young and talented, so might make a good run for the playoff. but... in the end... west is a tough conference.

This trade would benefit all 3 teams.
But Oden might be ROY because he has a supporting cast. THEN again, the same thing was said about Carmelo, and Lebron won ROY. It's a shame portland is buying out Franchise's contract. Could have used him.
Thu Jul 05, 2007 7:53 am
wtf is with all these stupid trade ideas?
btw zanshadow, though its odd for me to say i agree with you. no way portland makes the playoffs this season.

Your trade idea and comment about Steve Francis seem to be coming from an NBA Live viewpoint.
Assuming you're talking about the *actual* NBA, I give you a big friendly BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, on both counts.
Thu Jul 05, 2007 10:28 am
How do I get a BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for that?? New Orleans get a productive 2 guard who can run the break, Seattle gets a decent scorer and a post body. The blazers get a MUCH-NEEDED shooter, a scoring multi-talented point guard, and a center that can come off of the bench and score.
But that's what I think.
Thu Jul 05, 2007 10:44 am
francis is a cancer. he is a born loser with a loser mentality. he will never help any team do anything except lose.

i shall consider myself owned

I didn't mind Francis in his one year at Maryland (although I must admit I liked Laron Profit better), but the minute he forced a trade due to not liking the city he was drafted by (ala Kobe Bryant & Yi Jianlian), I haven't had any respect for his attitude....talent was always there, but to be a success, I think you need more than talent....
Thu Jul 05, 2007 11:21 am
drafted by vancouver but refused 2 play for em, stevie francheese
i think lots would have done the same
team was garbage
wasted high draft picks by van: shareef/bryant reeves the big country/stromile/antonio daniels, etc
only decent pick was bibby by van, second overall though(sorta wasted for 2nd but considering 1st was olowkandi... it was ok pick)
another mentionable players like pete chillcutt, thorpe, dickerson, greg anthony, bobby hurley, lynch, messenburg, lee mayberry, felipez lopez(major league plyr now), etc...
no wonder heisley was forced to sell the team to memphis...

naw, i was just a fan of grizzlies back then
was just too much fun to watch em get their ass kicked
it was golden age for nba... wid all the big name players like jordan, malone & more...
funny i always thought mlb felipe was nba felipe... my bad... aint much of a baseball fan, so had no idea...
Fri Jul 06, 2007 2:19 am
any player who refuses to play for the team that drafts them is a worthless pile of shit and does not deserve to be in the nba. i was interested in seeing Yi play now i hope he never comes to the nba.
Fri Jul 06, 2007 5:29 am
^ But I thought it was Yi's agent or whatever that was basicly demanding he be moved....
