Right on both counts.

Well, I don't think that with the current roster they can make a serious run to the Finals. Once thay sign a couple of big names in 2010, D'Antoni will change his coaching style in order to contend for the tittle. Believe me.
About the Lopez thing, I agree.

That's optimistic.

I don't see why he'd need to "change his coaching style" in order to contend? Doesn't he have three years of contending in Phoenix?

I don't get why people say that D'Antoni can't win a title, when the Suns would have probably won the title if not for injuries and the NBA's stupid leaving the bench rule.

Good point.
Yeah, you're both right. My bad. Let me change what I said.
D' Antoni will have to adapt his coaching style to the players he'll get in 2010.
Maybe he won't have a superb point guard and people who can run and shoot the ball at the 5 positions.

and the refs making them lose

The question is, how likely is it that two major free agents sign with the Knicks even if they could afford it? And what would the rest of the team look like? I just think you've got to have a couple of other players in place to compliment a big free agent acquisition, otherwise acquiring them in the first place is easier said than done. Of course, if Lee's shooting for around $12 million per year as I read on RealGM, keeping him and signing two big name free agents isn't really feasible.

They could've beaten the Cavs back in 07 and never see this ugly thing happening now in their team . . .

More Eddy Curry hijinks. Man, I REALLY hate Isiah Thomas. He fucked us over big time with his bonehead moves.

Mostly, Curry looked disinterested and eager to get out of town.
Just about sums up one of the biggest reasons he's fallen short of the most hopeful expectations.

He shouldn't even be in the league, man. No desire at all.

That's easily the Knicks' biggest obstacle in the LeBron sweepstakes. They'll be able to offer him plenty of money and the lure of New York, but who's he going to be teamed up with? Even if they were to get LeBron and another big name, there's work to be done and not a lot of cap space or viable trade assets to get it done with.

I'm starting to give up on the idea of 2010. I am torn in two over the Ramon Sessions potential signing. I really love the way the kid plays, I think he will be a solid Point Guard and a good player in the league for years to come. But another 5 year full MLE deal? Jerome James and Jarred Jeffries have me scared of these.
On another note, what do you guys think of David Lee and Nate Robinson this offseason? I see Nate coming back for the qualifying offer and I honestly see Lee signed and traded. I don't know what to see in this team anymore, I think the best route to go is to rebuild through drafting.

I think signing Sessions would get you guys into the playoffs. Unlike Jeffries and James (Isiah signings...), Ramon is actually good, posting an 18 PER in just his second season. Sessions - Chandler/Nate - Gallinari - Harrington/Lee - Hill/Darko - playoffs?
Fri Jul 24, 2009 10:23 pm
I doubt that signing Sessions, drafting Hill and trading for Darko can put the Knicks over the hump.

Ye of little faith over the Darko acquisition.
Darko is has the mindset to give the Knicks a much needed defense. He'll rape the wives and daughters of those who get in his way.

I'd agree with that. It appear that Lee and the Knicks aren't seeing eye-to-eye when it comes to dollars and if they're still pinning all their hopes on a big acquisition next year, they're not going to be in any rush to pay him top dollar. Especially with the cap projected to decrease again next season.

The point of sports is essentially to make money, and if you're a team in New York selling out a good number of seats for every game -- it's not a bad setup.

Sorry I quote the wrong person but I was talking about the Darko vid where he went off on the refs. I found it later though.
