I'm all for shipping Curry's fat, lazy, out-of-shape ass out of NY. But unless Isaiah Thomas gets another GM job, who'd be stupid enough to trade for the Blob That Ate New York?

I can't think of anyone who I'd expect to have enthusiastic interest but given his legit size at centre (fitness aside) and he's put up decent numbers at the offensive end in the past, there could be some interest especially since he only has a couple of years left on his contract meaning they could wash their hands of him if it didn't pan out. Of course, any team who was interested would probably be looking to dump a bad contract of their own and the Knicks wouldn't want to take any of those on, at least if they run beyond next season.

Watching Brook Lopez torch these pathetic Knicks the other night makes me MORE angry over the Gallinari pick. Leave it to the Knicks to pass up cats like Lopez and Eric Gordon and draft a kid with a bad back. This is the same organization who drafted Frederic Weis over Artest. Lopez would have given this team the inside presence it desperately needs. But no, Walsh had to draft Mr. Bad Back just because D'Antoni played with kid's father years ago. Doesn't matter who's in charge, most of NY's picks post-Ewing have been woeful. Unbelievable..........

Walsh has defended Gallinari's selection.

"I'm convinced that we took the right guy," Walsh said. "I'm optimistic that this can be taken care of and he can get back to 100%. And I think that's the way Danilo is thinking."

In all fairness, his selection could turn out alright for the Knicks if he gets healthy and gets some more NBA experience under his belt but Lopez being the better pick is a no-brainer at the moment and Gallinari would really have to explode as Lopez could be at least a 15 and 10 player within a couple of years.

That's what I'm saying. Maybe the Knicks win a few more games with Lopez in the middle to shore up the defense. And how often do quality big men come along? Even with the surgery, Gallinari will always have back issues.

Donnie Walsh is full of sh!t. He's spin-doctoring and he knows it.

With Wilson Chandler's emergence and the aim to bring LeBron in come 2010 - admittedly a longer shot with the Cavs seemingly emerging as legit contenders this season - it's definitely a short sighted pick as such a scenario wouldn't leave quality minutes for Gallinari while a quality big man would better complement LeBron and Chandler. And even if it's just Chandler, it's a pick wasted as he's established himself at that position for the Knicks with a solid sophomore season with plenty of room left for further improvement.

This team is so embarassing to watch. Really pissed off with the way they play ball.

Dude they need time... im not knicks fan but they got great young talents, few players which have plenty of experience ... you just need to wait... reggie miller said that knicks fans must wait year or two to see them in play offs maybe even 3-5 seed in conference. So just wait :P

i guess the knicks playoff hopes are all but done after this losing streak and losing to must win games at home vs the kings, nets, clippers..

So.. I think the Knicks either over-achieved this season or decided to tank. My only two solutions.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

I'd say they've overachieved if anything but really, they've done about what you could reasonably expect given the roster heading into the season and after the trades they've made during it.

But he's right. Knicks will suck next season too. We won't see the big changes until the 2010 off-season.

IF the Knicks get a big-name FA. IF Jeffx. IF.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

With all the money they'll have to throw around and a couple of the current players presumably still part of their longterm plans, I expect they'll sign at least one noteworthy free agent. I think LeBron for one has turned into a long shot but there are others whose current teams have more questionable futures and/or have had a relationship sour in recent times.

They'll be able to sign two Andrew, if Walsh can find a sucker to take the Blob off his hands. And I keep telling Knick fans, forget about King James, he'd be a fool to leave Cleveland. But I'll be happy with Bosh and Wade(if not Wade, than another quality player like Chris Paul).

I read Isiah got a job coaching college basketball down in Florida. Great. He'll be catching more co-ed tail than his players.

Rumors had it that Donnie Walsh is interested in signing Marcin Gortat !
NY Post said that Donnie Walsh will use a MLE to try to sign him this offseason .
Well , Otis Smith of course will try to match that , but if this happens where will Curry go !?

It's bad enough that you're trying to start a discussion on the basis of a rumour and you didn't even provide a link to make it worse.

Maybe he actually works for the Knicks front office?

That would explain so, so, so much.

Anyways, this would certainly help the Knicks a lot, especially if David Lee rightfully bails on the team.

Gortat said that he would love to play in New York too. I heard it yesterday on ESPN. Good C and he as taken by Phoenix in the Draft... Another stupid move by the Suns

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Assuming he wouldn't be grossly overpaid, he'd be a good pickup for the Knicks. I don't know about him being a regular starter, I guess it would depend who else they have around but he's been solid in his current role.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Sat Jun 13, 2009 11:55 am

They wouldn't have this problem if Donnie Walsh picked Brook Lopez :furious:
and this Knick Team won't be a Championship Team if Mike D' Antoni is the Head Coach , his type of play is not made for Championships but for entertainment .
