If I remember correctly, I think I saw an article, where Curry said he only plays basketball, because he has physical abilities and so he could make a lot of money.

Eddy Curry would welcome a trade out of New York if it meant helping the Knicks.
"I've been here a long time," Curry said Sunday. "I want to see us get better. If it takes my contract to do it, then I would hate to leave, [but] if it results in the Knicks getting better, I'm all for that."
Curry also mentioned that he is eligible to opt out of his contract following the 2009-10 season, though that would mean leaving behind $11.2 million that he would be unlikely to find elsewhere.
