HUGE comeback by the Lakers in the fourth quarter. I think the Celtics got too comfortable and slacked off a bit and now it came to bite them back in the ass. And nice steals by Fisher and Radmonovic, but how the hell did the ref miss that traveling violation?!?! It's not like anyone was blocking the ref's view of Radmonovic's feet and he was in open court the whole time.
Edit:Looks like the Celts will hold on and take Game 2, but amazing fourth quarter comeback by the Lakers. Now let's see how the Celtics will fare on the road.

Fuck... I hate this Boston's Shits.. Hope they'll die..
Anyway good game.. The Lakers was struggling all the time exept the 4th quarter.. L.A show that if they have to play well - they play well.. Ops i mean they play the best basket in NBA in this moments..
But it wasn't enought in this game..

3 quarters struggling > 1 quarter of amazing plays
But I think that L.A. Have a psychological advance over da Celtics, cause of this Amazing comeback..
IT will be MISSION IMPOSSIBE for the C' here in Los Angeles

I don't understand why Leon Powe only played like 15 minutes in the game....they needed his energy out there in the 4th....thank God Paul Pierce had enough balls to step up at end & deliver the win....
should be an interesting game 3....the series is really starting to shape up nicely....I'm still waiting for more of an impact from guys like Garnett & Ray Allen....luckily for Boston, they have guys named Pierce, Rondo, Brown, Powe & Posey who are getting it done

Tremendous effort by the Lakers to make it a close one after getting down by 24 but that was a horrendous non-call on Radmanovic's travel. Seriously, you might as well let him tuck the ball under his arm and sprint the length of the court if you're going to let such a blatant violation slide.
What a game by Powe! 21 points in just 14 minutes. As much as the Lakers/Celtics rivalry is about the stars locking horns, it's great to see role players make a name for themselves and come up with big performances of their own.
I believe the Celtics will be able to take a game in Los Angeles which is all they need, though Kobe is due for a dominant performance from start to finish so I anticipate the Lakers will take Game 3 to avoid falling into an 0-3 hole.

You don't think Boston will have a psychological advantage of their own being two wins away from winning the series as opposed to the Lakers still needing four?

I too expect Celtics to pick up 1 of 3 games in LA & be playing for title in game 6 back in Boston....
Mon Jun 09, 2008 2:14 pm
Yes Andrew! Radmanovic did 3 steps when he dunked... ¬¬
He started the steps in the 3 point line... that just ugly
He can be running alone for the photo... but come on!!! This are the Finals where the best players of the year are playing!!!
Or it is suposed xD
Mon Jun 09, 2008 2:16 pm
I'd agree with Andrew above the Rado travel....although I had no problem with the no call, if you are going to call Kobe for a soft elbow to Ray Allen's chest, you gotta call that travel too....
Mon Jun 09, 2008 2:37 pm
Nice game by the Celts, I really don't care if they were chased by that big lead. As long as they win, I'm good. And yeah, Vlad surely traveled in that sequence, and the Celts did not play any defense at all in the final 5 minutes or so, good thing they had this huge lead to cling on.
As for Powe, I did not even think that this guy can even produce that much in 15 minutes...but yeah, that was a surprise and props to him...If he can continue that on the road, that would be a bonus...

I was like, what!?, when the officials didn't call that as a travel. Since the start, they called crap.
Leon Powe was playing darn good. I will not be surprised if I see him play more minutes.
Damn, we're losing. But hey, games 3, 4, and 5 is at Staples, right? I'm expecting they're gonna do some home cookin'.

Go Lakers!!

Officiating overall sucked big time tonight. Too many uncalled and too many unneccessary calls.

he did lead his conference (SEC) in scoring & rebounding one year at college, so he has shown ability to produce at that level, & did show flashes of it during the regular season, so for me no real surprise to see it....

that's the european two steps..
LEAN..nice 3 stars and a sun
..(collector ka din ng shirts?)
Mon Jun 09, 2008 6:18 pm
Actually, no. I don't know where to find them FrancisM shirts.
Anyway, Game 2 was spectacular overall. PJ and Powe provided great numbers and the Lakers made a great effort on staging a comeback. Those 3's in the fourth were all crucial, amazing performance for both teams.
And I'm happy that Rondo didn't throw up much useless shots as before, he was more assist-oriented this time.

Neo-Chinatown..Bradco Avenue near Mall of asia..hehe..
Yes, I'm a laker fan but you really have to give credit to what boston did..defense,offense..mr.powe..
i want to believe that lakers can still make a comeback but i think the chances are getting slimmer..but i'm still hoping..
Mon Jun 09, 2008 6:54 pm
I think the Lakers would take the next game seriously and perhaps game 3 would be a win for the lakers but as I see it Boston can win at least one on the road and I hope they do!!
Anyway good game for the Celtics they just have to not let their guard down on D specially when you have Hurricane #24 on your opponent's team!!
And I hope officiating would be much better on Staples!!
Also Leon Powe is showing shades of a good possible career in the Nba!!

Yeah, without that game I'd see Powe going to D-League soon. He hasn't done much, but now he'll most likely start getting more minutes and if he proves himself, we have a nice roleplayer.

what are you talking about? Powe, along with a player like Glen "Big Baby" Davis, have had numerous strong games during the regular season, & there was no way that either would end up going to D-League anytime soon
just because someone sits near end of bench (eg. JJ Redick), doesn't mean they can't play....

I think if he wouldn't have many games like that, he'd soon end up there. Just like many players who don't stand a chance of proving themselves, Power did.

this must be your first celtics game this season? powe has been great all year for us the only part of his game that is lacking has been his minutes. i dont know wtf doc keeps thinking when he looks at powe over on the bench. the guy has had some huge games where his production is always high.
Mon Jun 09, 2008 10:47 pm
Powe has low stats this Playoffs, so he is seldomly used. Considering that Celtics had 2 Game 7's.

Exactly, the man was on fire, they might have still been sloppy in the 4th, but at least they would have had much more energy going on on both sides of the court.
Anyway, glad they won this one, I really hope they'll steal at least one game in fucking LA. Go Celts!
Tue Jun 10, 2008 1:44 am
lol...... the games over but the ft disparity was amazing.... i know boston was aggressive but so were the lakers in the beginnning but...... oh well games over but it amazes me to see that although the celtics shot 28 more ft's, the lakers had the game within 2 points at the end of the 4th......
