hmm thunder kinda makes sense if they use lightning (not lighting) in their logos.. it would fit the early reports of black & gold team colors

Qballer,

I think Thunder would be apropos given the amount of severe weather we have here in the Midwest. Probably still time to include Oklahoma City in this year's edition of NBA Live. We'll see when the game comes out, though.

The more I see the name, the less strange it seems as it's in a similar vein to the Heat and Magic. It still feels a little out of place as the name of an NBA team though.

It will personally take some time to get used to that name. Yet again, I remember when Charlotte announced their "Bobcats" nickname, it was shocking and ridiculous but with time everybody got used to them.

apparently Bennett doesn't like names that don't end in "s" so perhaps that's what holding it all up? perhaps they'll go with the Outlaws. and then trade for Travis Outlaw and hire Bo Outlaw as an assistant.

Frenchy that's actually a pretty good looking logo. Bears and shit that can kill you is always a good nickname eg. Tigers, Timberwolves, Jaguars, Panthers, Grizzles etc. What type of logo or mascot will the thunder have? Not really feelin that nickname, Outlaws would have been way better, they could have started by signing Ruben Patterson and Darius Miles and then proceeded to put together the old Jail Blazers team and then have Isiah Thomas the biggest Outlaw of them all coach them.

That's not a bad example of what they could do with their logos aside from simply featuring lightning, though I'm sure lightning will be featured in the design of their logos, court and jerseys.
