Hopefully the Bucks can win tonite, sweep the Spurs this season, and show milwaukee that this was a great move.

Also why did they sign an unproven guy to a multi-year contract? Sure he might have had success in the NCAA and the CBA, but those are not the NBA. He better not dissapoint or the Bucks just ruined another few seasons.
I wish they hadn't fired Karl now. Sure he might have messed up the team, but atleast he could coach and stress D. Also his 30-30-30 plan works well.
The Bucks better have the right man or the franchise will be over or out of Milwaukee soon. There is no fan support here now and this might be the last chance.
First of all, it doesn't look like Oden or Durant are coming out.
Secondly, all good coached have to start somewhere. Be it Phil Jackson or Terry Stotts. While signing him to a 2 yr deal seems a bit crazy, lets just see how he coaches first.
Thirdly, Karl isn't a good defensive coach, which is part of the reason why Stotts sucked in this area cause he was his assistant for a long time. Karl is a great offensive coach, and average on the other end.
This team will be staying in Milwaukee as long as Kohl owns it. There's little evidence to say the team will be shipped elsewhere even after it is sold as Kohl will not sell it to someone who is considering moving it (e.g. when Jordan wanted to buy it). It's been a long and tough season, but the fans will come back. larry K's performance from day 1 has to provide some hope though.

How long was Larry K a Bucks assistant for?

Would love to see Ersan start a few games alongside Bogut and CV. See how this young frountcourt can play together.
Greer, Noel, and Ilyasova have had chances to play from all the injuries. Ersan, who i like a bit, just needs to get past his pump fakes. He always pump fakes and that hurts him when he just needs to shoot right away. Just like that game he lost because he pump faked and passed because the defender got to him, and time ran out before we could get a shot off. He should have just shot it. Its a bad habit. I hope he does get out of it because he could turn into a dangerous shooter. Plus he does a good job scrapping for the ball.

Well now Bogut will get more passes

Agree with the pump fakes with Ersan. He is still young, and I think he could develop into a very solid role player. But in all fairness why was he with the ball on the last play of a game anyway? Shouldn't of Stotts drawn up a better play?
Fri Mar 16, 2007 10:00 am
Well i never really hated plays drawn up to go to williams or that ersan play. I think ersan was the 2nd option anyway on that play. I mean most teams would think they are going to redd anyway, so going to one of the other players isnt a bad idea really. But you should always go to your star players when you need a game wining shot. Even the bulls sometimes passed on Jordan and gave Kerr the last shot once in a while.

At worst, it's a financial loss. If Krystkowiak doesn't do a satisfactory job, he'll be fired and his contract paid out while someone else takes his place. He needn't remain the Bucks' head coach for the entire duration of his contract if the Bucks aren't happy with the job he's doing.

Well at present the Bucks are paying for Terry Porter, Terry Stotts and Larry K. Bit of money being thrown around for coaching. Hopefully this coach plays off, cause I don't think Sen. Kohl is willing to spend a lot towards coaches anymore after what happened with Karl.
EDITED:
At the end of the first half the Bucks are up against the Spurs: 52-43
Playing very very well, bar turnovers.
Key stats:
Redd: 14 points (7/10fg), 4 Assists, 4 Rebounds
Bogut: 7 points (3/4fg), 3 Assists, 8 Rebounds
Bell: 6 points (2/5fg), 2 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 2 Steals
Ilyasova: 9 points (3/4fg) 1 Rebound, 1 Steal
Patterson: 8 points (2/3fg) 4 Rebounds 2 Assists 1 Steal
Mo Williams is the only player thats not doing so well so far. His carried his poor shooting form into this game: 2 points (1/6fg), 2 Rebounds, 1 Assist
Hopefully the defence remains this strong and we see more of Ersan who is looking very good.

I agree it's not an ideal situation but seeing as that money doesn't affect their cap space or their ability to hire and fire coaches so signing Larry K to a multiyear deal doesn't present the same risk as, say, signing a player with questionable health to a huge deal or trading away a team's best player for a draft pick or a young, unproven player with a lot of potential.
Fri Mar 16, 2007 12:12 pm
Good point. I just don't like thinking that Kohl will spend more money on coaches without limiting how much he spends on players. Big off season coming up with Mo, Bell, Ilyasova, Patterson and Skinner free agents. Plus a high draft pick. Not going to be time to be cheap.
EDITED!!!!!:
Bucks Win! The Larry K era has begun. Held the spurs to 90, won by 11.
Great defence, destroyed them on the board (20+ more). Redd, Bogut and Greer played fantastic. Only disappointment was Mo Williams who played rather poorly and was ejected in the second term when he got a double technical. Poor call, but he should have kept his cool.
The fans at BC gave Larry K a standing ovation at the games end, with Bogut and Ruben running over to hug him. Memorable game, hopefully the start of something.

Wow a win over the streaking spurs? Nice! But eh, lets not go nuts now, we do want a good draft pick. I say we give our bench more minutes to help them learn the game better.

Just a finacial loss? Last I checked the Bucks take a very long time to fire coaches.
I loved the win. The only wierd thing is that Bogut and Redd led the team in assists.

Their last two coaches each lasted only two years. The averaging coach tenure of Bucks coaches throughout history has been 4.1 years and excluding Don Nelson's 11 year stint from 1976-1987, 3.3 years (2.9 years excluding Larry Costello's six year stint as the team's first coach, the second longest tenure in club history). In either case the tenure of their last two coaches is below average by the team's usual standards and excluding Nelson, Costello and George Karl the Bucks' coaches haven't really had lengthy stints, certainly no longer than average. I don't doubt it feels longer for Bucks fans though; Tim Floyd's tenure with the Bulls felt a lot longer than 3 1/4 seasons.

Great game, and also a great 1st win for krisko, ending the Spur's 13 gm win streak. I can now see that the Bucks have hope for the future.

GREAT GAME, Very good plays by Mike and Charlie(nice dunks!), and Mo(that sweet block/foul), and those technicals on the Cats were great also.

Bucks made a huge 4th quarter comeback to take the lead against the Clippers, but lost by one. Still a good effort with no bogut or Charlie.
Thu Mar 22, 2007 2:10 pm
I agree, just pains me to see a loss after the huge effort
Thu Mar 22, 2007 4:48 pm
Yep, no Bogut or CV for the rest of the year. Gadz is still out as well. Looks like we're going to have a top quality front court of Skinner, Reiner, Ilyasova and Markota.
Thu Apr 05, 2007 1:51 pm
Wow - all the Celtics people are happy we lost since we put some distance between ourselves and the Bucks for the second-worst record, but you guys are still rooting for them to win?
Thu Apr 05, 2007 2:59 pm
Is it possible for Milwaukee to tank enough to get the 2nd pick? (without relying on lottery to move them up)
Fri Apr 06, 2007 12:51 pm
It could happen, in 05 they had the 4th(I think) worst record in the NBA and still got the #1 pick.
