What makes you so sure it will be lame? Detroit has been great so far this season, Lebron will be in the playoffs, new jersey has been on fire and miami is still dangerous. you also throw a pacer team that could shake things up with a wizards and bulls team who could win a few games in the first round, and i think theres plenty of storylines/matchups to keep a real fan interested.

Bulls-Wizards was a good game....Gordon caught fire in this one....hope to see more variety of games in the future

Sun Apr 16, 2006 12:46 pm

I just hope the coverage doesn't turn into "San Antonio's Quest for A Second Straight Title". No offense intended to the Spurs or Spurs fans, but with all the Spurs game this year it would be nice if we got to have that variety in the first round, while those other teams are still in there.

Apologies for the double post, but this is a news bump:

The previous scheduled Spurs/Rockets game this week will not be shown. Instead, the listings indicate that the Clippers/Mavericks game will be shown instead. There's a couple of games I'd have rather see but it is the first Clippers gave they've shown this year and the Mavericks haven't been on too much either. Not a bad substitution, they certainly proved me wrong. But I can live with that. ;)

Clippers/Mavericks is way better (Y)

Is it on thursday or saturday?

Mon Apr 17, 2006 4:21 pm

That's this coming Thursday. ESPN Australia will be showing its first playoff matchup on the 27th.

Mon Apr 17, 2006 5:15 pm

Woot I was just about to post this

This game should be so much better then the Rockets/Spurs one :D

i enjoyed the game, but this game felt like a college game....just way too guard orientated. Somebody dump it inside....that's why i can't watch Suns too much.

Mon Apr 17, 2006 8:14 pm

That's always going to happen in a game with no dominant bigs though.

I like the college game so it suited me to a T :P

well i kinda got bored as Arenas & Daniels took turns bricking in the 4th.

Hopefully Pistons will plays Bucks in rnd 1, that'll get em on ESPN.

Thu Apr 20, 2006 8:47 am

I just saw an add saying there will be a game this Sunday :D

Thu Apr 20, 2006 10:30 am

yeah me too!!!! excellent!!!!

next month they have a whole heap of games too scheduled, plus they'll probably have a few more non scheduled games. OWNAGE!!!!!

hopefully this week it's Detroit v Bucks!!!!

By the looks of this we will probably get either Chicago at Miami or Denver at Clippers, not bad at all Hopefully we get the Bulls Heat one though :D

And next Thursday we should be getting Lakers Suns :P

Thu Apr 20, 2006 6:35 pm

i like that Denver v Clipps matchup. Also Dallas v Memphis is nice, and Washington v Cleveland is nice & even.....but since ESPN Australia has a say in the games, i bet there will be a Pistons v Bucks game.

actually, the TV guide in Aus has us having a game on the 27th....these are the games on...
Bucks - Pistons
Memphis - Dallas
LAL - Phx

Too much hype about that Phx - Laker series.

Thu Apr 20, 2006 6:50 pm

LOL before there was only the laker Sun game scheduled for that Wednesday

Fri Apr 21, 2006 4:44 pm

Turns out it's Miami/Chicago. Works for me, haven't seen a Heat game in a while and I can certainly deal with another Chicago game. ;)

Clippers/Mavericks was pretty uninspiring yesterday with Brand, Cassell and Nowitzki sitting out. Mind you, we did get to see Pavel get a new career high with 3 points in his season debut. So all was not lost.

how funny was Bill Walton? hahaha, he had me rolling. If ever there was a guy that just doesn't belong in the NBA right now it's gotta be Pavel. He looked pathetic against Clippers 2nd & 3rd stringers.

Anyways, Bulls v Heat is nice....like i said, Bulls defence should get them 1 win.....might get more depending on which Shaq turns up...but Bulls have nobody that can play Shaq well.

I was hoping for Nugs v Clippers though, much more even matchup.

No doubt, watching him attempt to take someone off the dribble was hilarious. As always Walton exaggerated everything, just like comparing Brendan Haywood to Hakeem Olajuwon after a decent move he made last week in the Bulls/Wizards game.

Also, I thought they referred to Boniface Ndong a lot more than they had to...like they were certainly aware they were doing it, seeing as how it's pronounced "dong". The "Ndong looks stiff out there" line had to be intentional. It was too well-timed, said way too casually. So yeah, the game had its moments like that but it was ugly.

Sat Apr 22, 2006 2:29 am

well yeah the game was ugly, but the commentary kept me in it...especially since he was saying it with a straight face.

Sat Apr 22, 2006 6:42 am

That was probably the worst game they show this season. A close 2nd is the Bucks-Magic game they showed a couple months ago (N)

what about Spurs - Knicks......not only is that a bad matchup but Spurs were up 30 at one point.

Sat Apr 22, 2006 2:32 pm

Im pumped for tomorrows game, Hopefully they give us some bonus coverage at the start :P

I just watched the game this morning (taped it on Thursday) and it was bloody halarious! The commentators kept going on about Pavel

As long as it doesn't cut into the Bulls/Heat game, I wouldn't mind that. If there is bonus coverage it will be Spurs/Kings and since I'm kind of burned out on Spurs games right now, it better be a good one if it interrupts the scheduled game at all.
