Re: The Knicks Thread....

Great game today against the Bulls, very impressive victory. David Lee in my eyes one of the more intellegent players in the NBA, and played good defense on Ben Gordon in the closing moments of the game. Even though Ben Gordon forced a horrible shot, David lee stuck with him the whole way though. (Y) (Y) .

Finally Gallinari starts to have an impact on the Knicks's game. The last couple of games were really good: some points, good shooting, some rebounds here, some assists and blocked shots there. Hopefully, we won't get injured again and can develop into something worthy of a sixth pick.

Even better win vs. the Suns. Gallinari isn't looking too shabby and David Lee did a great job vs the big front of shaq/amare. This team is way more exciting and shows a lot more effort than last year's team

At least the Knicks are watchable now, and Walsh has us headed in the right direction. I hope he doesn't trade Lee.

I hope Lee makes the ASG as a reserve....I think as a 12th man on the team, he's worthy....I think he'll just miss out though as Knicks haven't won enough....but then again, Nets (Carter & Harris), Pacers (Granger) & Raptors (Bosh) haven't been that good either....

If the individual performance is good enough then I don't think the team record should come into play. Let's face it, if someone is averaging a triple double (Lee isn't, but I use it as an extreme example) then it's an effort that has to be recognised even if their team has a losing record. Lee has to have a decent shot this year.

Itll be tough for lee to get in... You have room for 7 reserves and harris, carter, joe johnson, pierce, bosh, granger, d. Rose, mo williams, caron butler, jamison, lee, lewis, jameer nelson, all have a realistic shot to get in.

Just heard a report that Eddy Curry's three-year-old son witnessed the murders of his mom and babysitter in Chicago. Damn.....condolences to Curry's family.

That's beyond terrible. My thoughts go out to Curry and his family too.

Sometimes watching the Knicks play is painful. So many unforced errors and bad shots get me mad most of the time. I say this even though I am satisfied with the results this season, I am actually hoping they make the playoffs. The current roster we have in New York is the kind of team that can pull of an upset. The uptempo style of play can also catch a better team off guard. And the way New York is playing lately my goodness, it will be hard to stop this team.

I also want to express hapiness in the fact that David Lee and Wilson Chandler are playing like two tremendous talents. Wilson definantly deserved to make the sophomore team this year and David deserves to be in the all-star team. I guess we will find out tomorrow about that.

Another thing I wanted to conversate about, especially with the fellow Knicks fans, is the fact that they are FINALLY performing down the stretch. It has been a problem for years where the players would have costly turnovers in the last minutes of a game. It used to kill me when they would miss free throws, throw dumb passes, take stupid shots when the game easily could've been put away. Well that isn't a problem this year and this is why New York is now a respectable team.

I am satisfied with the team this year, and I hope they continue to play this well, its been pretty embarassing rooting for the laughing stock of the NBA, but I will forever be a true Knick fan and nothing will change that. We are headed in the right direction. :applaud: :applaud:

They're slowly ridding themselves of the drama too. The Marbury situation remains unresolved but one way or another it'll be over this year.

Wilson Chandler, Lee and Robinson must stay. I am afraid that some stupid move trades them for players that are overpaid and suck big time.

What I don't understand is why Mobley is still listed on the inactive list? (NBA boxscores)

Because he still occupies a roster spot despite the medical retirement.

That's the main thing - we're headed in the right direction. After the disastrous Layden/Thomas regimes, Dolan finally woke up and hired people who know what they're doing. Knicks are finally thinking long-term. And as much as I hate Isiah, I give him props for finding Lee, Nate & Chandler. He's a disaster as a businessman/GM/coach, but Zeke does have an eye for talent.

According to the NY Daily News, the little girl that was murdered in Chicago was Eddy Curry's daughter(by his ex-girlfriend, who was also killed). Horrible.

So looking at the Knicks schedule I see they have a tough stretch going on for them that will probably break there season. They have a lot of MUST WINS if they are even thinking of making the playoffs. After Indiana they play Lakers, Cavs, Celtics, and Blazers in 4 straight games. They also play Orlando, San Antonio, and Philly (who has given them trouble this year.) later this month. My guess is there best way to gain momentum and make a serious playoff run (If they are still in it after February.) Is to start March winning atleast five of the first six games. They play Atlanta, Charlotte, New Jersey, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Minnesota before they face the Cavaliers. Good luck to New York but they have a really tough week ahead.

The Knicks missed out on a disabled player exception for Mobley, so it looks like he'll continue to occupy a roster spot.

Knicks can't stop Kobe, 18 first quarter points. Thank god the Knicks are only down 5 though. We need Jeffries and Chandler to guard him tighter.

When it's all said and done they only lost by nine though.

Call me old-skool, but I was disgusted with those so-called "fans" shouting "M-V-P" for Kobe. Respect the man's talents, but you don't cheer for the enemy when he's whipping your team's ass. This wouldn't have happened back in the day with the hated Jordan & Reggie Miller. F-cking morons.

I heard there were a lot of Laker jerseys in the crowd though, so itmightn't have all been Knicks fans doing the chanting. Oddly, Spike Lee defended the chant in a quick sideline interview during the Cavs/Knicks game though.

I like Spike's movies, but he's a phony and an ass-kisser. You don't root for the enemy. I never cheered for Wilt, Kareem, Dr. J, Bird, Magic, Clyde when they were beating the Knicks, and I'm not going to start now. Spike just wants to get in good with these young NBA stars.

When their team is that bad, its the only time they get to see a good performance

cant believe blazers let a 17 point lead slip away in the same quarter they built it in.
Oden had a great game 17/12/6
Outlaw was huge too
Roy being roy
Robinson helped my fantasy team
so its all good

David Lee said it wasn't even discussed during the timeout. That's why I never liked D'Antoni. Even when the Knicks get good again, they're not going far with a coach who doesn't stress defense. Good luck getting past Boston, Cleveland & Orlando(in the playoffs) playing Suns-Lite basketball.
