Hi-larious.

That tells you everything you need to know about The Incredible Bulk - no clue and no desire. If Curry had David Lee's heart, imagine how good he'd be.

I'm not online yet, abhi.

I like the new Knicks but they definitely need a good center. Randolph starts at this position but he is rather a PF and no, 6'9'' are not enough. He lacks size for this position.

New York does not have a backup center either. James has size but isn't that good and Jeffries is 6'11' but a forward.

Moreover, Rose is an undersized PF as well.

We need size!

Lee, Robinson and Wilson Chandler could develop into something really important in my opinion. They have potential and heart.

i am down with david lee, guy has some serious heart. i feel the same way about robinson. dont know anything about wilson chandler.

Sun Nov 02, 2008 7:39 am

I agree with Leander. Dalembert pwned us yesterday.

The only true centers we have weigh 550 lbs combined, Randolph and Lee are just 6-9, Jeffries is injured but can't play the C anyway. The only one left is Gallinari, who's 6-10 and a SF, not to mention NBDL material at most.

New York needs its new Pat Ewing. New York needs a player who isn't a spoiled brat for a change.

Marbury Inactive For Foreseeable Future

Just goes to show how much resolve D'Antoni has and how Marbury has fallen out of favour with the team, when they're willing to pay him over $20 mil for courtside seats.

Sun Nov 02, 2008 9:31 pm

My question is: why?

Marbury and Curry have huge contracts and are not the best players but they could still contribute. Why doesn't Mike D'Antoni play them?

Just because of team chemistry? Marbury can still score and dish out some assists.

Or is he too proud to come off the bench?

Sun Nov 02, 2008 10:39 pm

Curry and Marbury obviously arent putting the work in, because they assume they should have the playing time locked up. D'Antoni rarely went outside of his rotations while he was in Phoenix, so the players' work ethic should adjust accordingly.

Sun Nov 02, 2008 11:00 pm

"I want to stress, he’s been great," D'Antoni said. "He did everything we asked, he came ready. So it’s really just two things collided and I just couldn’t make this fit. I want to be respectful to him and everything, he’s been in the league a long time. This is the best thing I can come up with."

That's how bad it is with Marbury and the team.

With Marbury, it's a chemistry issue from all accounts. Curry turned up to camp out of shape.

Sun Nov 02, 2008 11:21 pm

Yes but Curry has the body to push people around, hehe.
His rebounding "skills" are fantastic...he grabs so many rebounds per game despite his size and mass...wow. LOL

I think Nate Robinson starting as center would grab more.

And block more.

Curry doesn't even work as the starter for the "7 secs or less" offense, he doesn't grab any rebounds.

Marbury inactive again, Walsh plans discussion

Predictions? It doesn't seem like there's any way the Knicks are buying him out for the full $21 million and in kind it doesn't look like Marbury will accept a buyout for less than the full amount owing on his contract. Unless someone is keen for an expiring contract, a trade seems unlikely so it seems like he stays and sometimes plays.

The "We want Steph" chants are puzzling though. Is it sarcasm or are their pockets of Knicks fans who are still behind him?

Mon Nov 03, 2008 7:44 pm

I'd say both. Like those of us who oppose Obama. Some of us hate Johm McCain and just want the lulz (sarcasm) and some of us actually like Johm McCain (pockets).

If they can't get a buyout for less, and they don't want him, they should just cut him. They can use the roster spot then.

Mon Nov 03, 2008 7:49 pm

They might as well if they're not going to play him, his contract comes off the books at the end of the year either way. It seems like Walsh wants to make one last attempt at making it work before they commit to paying Marbury without getting his services in return.

Tue Nov 04, 2008 12:40 am

It's a bit depressing because there is no denying that Starbury has talent. Any guy who averages 20 and 8 for as long as he did is very talented. However, that stats don't matter when you take into account how he is a cancer and must be a really serious one because he literally kills every team he lands on.

It's a bit of a waste for him to be 'rotting' on the bench. From D'Antoni's comments, it doesn't sound like Marbury will play any part with this team anymore unless Duhon or Nate or Collins get injured. I undertsand why they are doing this but funnily enough feel a bit sad for Marbury but I guess... he brought it on himself!

Tue Nov 04, 2008 1:05 pm

He's not only brought it on himself but he's keeping himself in that position in a way since he won't accept a buyout for less than the full amount owing on his contract. That's his right of course and that's fair enough but if neither side is going to budge on that issue then he'll remain a Knick and from the looks of things, an inactive Knick.

Tue Nov 04, 2008 11:01 pm

I think Marbury is taking it very well. Kudos to him. Although I've never liked him since he demanded trade out of Minnesota (much the same reason I didn't like Francis for similar reason out of Vancouver), I'm starting to not mind him as much, & hope he can go to a situation where he can help a team.

Knicks are still a circus....

Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:01 am

Well they are.

I feel Marbury deserves better. From what I've read he's been giving his all this preseason and in camp, there weren't any issues, he was a 'scholar'. Now if that indeed was the case, you should let him play, he has value on the court, not off the court, then you're making the problem bigger. If he would have played there wouldn't be such an issue. Besides it's not like the other Knicks guards are playing so great. (Nate is ok, but I don't like him, but Duhon? 30% shooting, and just little over 4 ass in 36 min?)

Knicks: No Plans To Trade, Waive, Buy Out Marbury
The Knicks have no plans to do anything with Stephon Marbury, except to pay him $21.9 million this season to sit on the bench.

Mike D'Antoni and Donnie Walsh have said that they will not waive, buy out, or trade Marbury. They will also not play him in games unless there is an injury to their top three guards, Chris Duhon, Jamal Crawford, or Nate Robinson.

"It is resolved," D'Antoni said on Tuesday. "It is. Pretty soon that story is not going to be fun to read because it is going to be the same old story.

"You are going to be beating a dead horse," D'Antoni added.

Seems like a waste not to explore at least a couple of those options if the Knicks have no intention of playing him unless it's absolutely necessary. It's certainly not fair on Marbury who deserves a chance to try and catch on somewhere else if he's keen to play.

NBA Union Ready To Help Marbury
NBA Union chief Billy Hunter says that they are ready to help Stephon Marbury and the New York Knicks find a mutually beneficial resolution to their situation should they ask for help, according to a report published by ESPN News Services.

"We may be engaging the team in trying to see if there's some kind of mutually beneficial position that the parties can arrive at," Billy Hunter, the executive director of the NBPA, told Bloomberg News. "Maybe there's somebody willing to trade for him. Maybe you can do a buyout. It depends on the parties."

Maybe some good news for Marbury in breaking the stalemate and resolving the situation one way or another. If he doesn't fit into D'Antoni's plans, so be it but if that's the case then both sides should come to some agreement so there can be a parting of the ways. It's a lot of money for the Knicks to pay someone who's not contributing to their season but it's even more wasteful if that person's still on the roster and if Marbury's tenure with the Knicks is over, better to put an end to that era sooner rather than later and move on without the situation hanging over their heads. The Knicks can then get on with their plans and Marbury can pursue other opportunities in the NBA (or judging by previous remarks he's made, perhaps Europe).

Nate Robinson: 5-5 from downtown, yes!

Fri Nov 07, 2008 2:07 am

I thought it was SICKENING seeing Knick 'fans' giving Jordan a standing ovation.

Fri Nov 07, 2008 9:33 am

I guess a lot of people have put that era behind them. Jordan always used to get fairly favourable reactions on the road though, compared to most visiting players.
