Curry is the must frustrating center ever. Seeing him complaining about his offensive fouls just makes you want to turn the channel. Can't believe Knicks got him with a big contract. Apparently this dude cant play in high intensity game because of his heart problem. HAHA

That was a Paxson gamble that arguably paid off, though so far what he ultimately did with the pick seems to cancel that out.

Tue Oct 14, 2008 11:56 am

maybe he didn't want to play basketball after all...

from Wikipedia

Prior to becoming considered one of the best high school basketball players in the nation as a senior at Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois, Curry aspired to be a gymnast and did not pick up basketball until the seventh grade when he reluctantly went out for the school team.

Perhaps, but if he really didn't want to play basketball I don't think he would have pursued it. Dirk Nowitzki has also said he didn't think much of basketball once upon a time and Hakeem Olajuwon didn't start playing competitively until he was fourteen.

And it's from Wiki. For all we know Jeffx could have edited that. Gymnast, lol.

From one of the links posted previously:
So proud of his off-season conditioning program, Stephon Marbury is producing a 45-minute fitness video due out for the Christmas shopping season.

Marbury's weight loss to his lightest since Lincoln High - after long hikes and jogging the Hollywood Hills - motivated him to do the video.

"It's for all different types of people, not just basketball players," said Marbury, whose video is called "Starbury & Aim Sports Medicine Presents: The Rebuilding of the Mind, Body and Soul of a Superstar."

 Enjoy the season Knicks fans.

Andrew wrote:Marbury Sees Himself As Knicks' Starter
Knicks guard Stephon Marbury, who appeared to have one foot out the door all summer long, sees himself as the starting point guard for the team.

New coach Mike D'Antoni is rumored to view Chris Duhon as the starter, with Marbury coming off the bench as a sixth man.

"You can't assess it yet," Marbury said of his competition with Duhon for the starting gig. "When the 29th comes, when the lights come on, it will be different. It doesn't matter now who is on the court at what position. I know when that the game starts, I'll have the ball or I'll be receiving the ball to make plays for others and myself."

Good to know he's open to accepting whatever role Mike D'Antoni has in mind.

According to the reports, D'Antoni's leaning toward a starting backcourt of Marbury & Duhon. Crawford's moaning about his role like a little b!tch.

Forget about Curry playing anytime soon. D'Antoni's not happy about Curry's lack of conditioning and buried his fat, lazy ass on the bench. Good.

I noticed Curry's been coming off the bench with Randolph starting at centre. Good news for David Lee too since it looks like he'll be getting the starting nod. Apparently the Bulls are still interested in Randolph but the Knicks aren't interested in anything the Bulls are offering (which isn't surprising). All the same, I guess Paxson is desperate to acquire a low post scorer by any means necessary, even someone with Randolph's baggage.

Ewing Performance May Earn Him Spot On Knicks?
The New York Knicks were leaning towards waiving Patrick Ewing Jr. by tomorrow's deadline in order to get their roster down to 15 players, but Friday's performance may have just won him a spot on the roster, the New York Post is reporting.

Ewing was the talk of the Garden after exploding in a nine minute stretch which saw two monster dunks and a three pointer, a blocked shot and midcourt steal that triggered a fastbreak and points for Nate Robinson Nate Robinson.

I'd like to see it happen. Obviously he has big shoes to fill but it would be cool to see him try and achieve that playing for the same team with which his father carved out his legacy.

Mon Oct 27, 2008 3:15 pm

Screw Roberson. I want to see Pat Jr. playing.

Tue Oct 28, 2008 7:58 pm

Pat Jr.'s been waived already because Pat is apparently "not polished enough offensively" to play for D'Antoni.

Tue Oct 28, 2008 11:17 pm

As I said in the other thread, if he makes his way to the D-League he should have a decent chance of ending up on an NBA roster before the season is through.

I can't believe Eddy Curry is 'stunned' at not being part of the regular rotation. They're paying this load millions and he can't make the committment to come to camp in shape???????

Season opener tonight. =).

Thu Oct 30, 2008 8:41 am

I am looking forward to see how we handle tonight's game against the Heat. Also looking forward to see Gallinari ridicule himself tonight (that's if he plays.) I hate that kid...

Thu Oct 30, 2008 11:15 am

I can understand him being upset about finding out about it second hand rather than from D'Antoni himself, it's the way the NBA works sometimes but I'd probably be miffed too if I were in his position. The rest of it though is on his head though, as you said he reported to camp out of shape which wasn't going to make a good impression.

I noticed Marbury registered a DNP-CD in the Knicks' opening night win too.

Curry can be miffed all he wants, but he brought it all on his fat self. D'Antoni has sent a clear message to Isiah's bums, and Andrew, I'm loving it!

Hey abhi, welcome back! Yeah, I'm playing 2K. I use Aaron's v.2 sliders and Razr's rosters from OS. This is as close to an NBA sim as you can get.

Fri Oct 31, 2008 12:06 am

No doubt. If he wants to play he should take a look at why D'Antoni made that decision rather than spending too much time feeling slighted by it.

It takes some guts for D'Antoni to take that approach. As fair as it sounds in theory, that means the Knicks are paying an awful lot of money to have people like Marbury and Curry sitting on the bench. I guess if they're winning it's a bit easier to swallow.

Neither is Madden, but since EA has the exclusive NFL rights, football gamers have no choice. Thank goodness EA doesn't have the exclusive NBA license, otherwise we'd be screwed. EA Sports ain't what it used to be, and you're talking to someone who was an NBA Live maniac.

nice. we need to play online.. you have it on ps3 right? whats your username? and let me know how we looked against miami, i'm working on the west coast right now so i got out too late to see anything about it.

But it's Curry we're talking about here. The fatass is a sensitive bitch. He's the same guy that got a little depressed or lost motivation when he found out that Zach was going to play the post same as him.

You can't help but to think about that, especially [since] I feel like I'm in pretty good shape," Curry said. "Hopefully I can contribute and, if not, I will cheer my team on and see what the Knicks' plan is.

Hi-larious.

Fri Oct 31, 2008 9:14 pm

And the same guy who balked at some medical tests after heart conditions sidelined him for the end of the season and Playoffs in 2005, right before he sought a big extension. Mind you, that kind of worked out for the Bulls.
