Totally forgot about the trade exception, but he was injured last season. Assuming he's healthy, he's good for 13-14 points and 6-7 rebounds.

There wasn't really any room for him on the team anymore though. For a rebuilding club, cap space and trade exception are more valuable assets.

Not a bad move for Redd, given what the Suns' staff have been able to do for Grant Hill.

More depth for the Suns. Now they can trade Childress.

Decent pickup for the Clippers. China are expected to fight the move but they refused to respond in the first place, forcing FIBA's hand.

Great signing for the Clippers, as long as Martin is willing to play fewer minutes. He could add a lot to their second unit.

Anyone notice how little trading there's been during this season?

Also, when's the trade deadline?

I do not believe there will be that many trades this season.I would not even consider a major or somewhat important trade right now if i owned a playoff team.A shitty team to a shitty team trade will do.

Agreed, as well as the seemingly inevitable Dwight Howard trade...unless the Magic are willing to take the risk and continue trying to sell him on staying.

I read something about a possible Andray Blatche - Tyrus Thomas swap. Even though Blatche is the superior player, I don't know if I want Blatche on the Bobcats' roster. I'd much rather trade for a draft pick, expiring contract, or a real center. Blatche's contract looks almost identical to that of Tyrus Thomas and his track record of being an idiot is bigger.

If he plays well and isn't a dumbass, I'd be happy. I've wanted the Bobcats to dump Thomas since they got him, and I never wanted him signed to that five-year deal. He's continued to be a flop, and is taking up minutes at the most crowded position on the roster.

That'd be a lateral move for both teams, another "let's see if a change of scene works out for them" kind of deal. Picks or expiring contracts would certainly be preferable for the Bobcats.

The Wizards would have McGee and Thomas up front? A lot of shot-blocking there, but not much else. At least Blatche has some offense.

He wouldn't be a bad pickup for the Knicks, but they need a playmaker more than they need a scorer like J.R. Smith.

Lin seems to be picking up the minutes for that position now. Besides, teams can only sign J.R. Smith a week after the All-Star Game, meaning, there's a lot more time for the Knicks to develop Jeremy Lin or acquire a proper PG. By then, they'd be dialing onto J.R. Smith.

BTW, March 15 is the deadline. Just wanted to point that out.

But the more important date is March 1, where off-season signings are now turned into trade-able assets.

NBA front-office sources say that the Bucks, who have always swatted away trade inquiries for Bogut in the past, are now listening to pitches for the 7-foot Australian, who is said to be intrigued by the prospect of a fresh start elsewhere after more than two years of injury misfortune and teamwide tension under coach Scott Skiles over the past two disappointing seasons.

Sources say that the Bucks, at least for the moment, are insisting that any team that trades for Bogut take on the disgruntled Stephen Jackson as part of the trade

Sources say that the Washington Wizards are among the teams to express the strongest interest in Bogut, which might be another indication that the Wiz are prepared to part with the enigmatic JaVale McGee, if not before the deadline than during the offseason.

lol at Skiles. Isn't that similar to his final season with the Bulls where most of the players hated him?

It was indeed, and the Suns before that if I recall correctly. The line on Skiles seems to be that he's a fine coach with a great head for the game, but he does start to wear on his players after a few years. However, it'd be interesting to see what he could do at the helm of a really good roster, whether the same kind of rift would develop after a few years if he's heading up a team winning 50+ games and in the championship mix.
